3. I did not hear that..
I guess I don't understand what the FCC would have to do with it then. Wouldn't inciting a riot be the jurisdiction of the police?

Raebrek!!!

8. FCC really only does smut but, if they are sent a number of complaints
-- even if it is outside their mandate -- Rush will hear about it and so will his sponsors. DUer onenote explained that to me when we were sending complaints about Bin Reilly. onenote was right about the response AND it still had an impact on Fox.

10. They may prefer to go after smut...
but they are charged with licensing. People who commit crimes over airwaves get their licenses yanked (or should).

13. Oh, I agree. Somehow all they prosecute is smut -- nipples and stuff.
lol

But, it doesn't matter. If they get a bunch of complaints, you know that email is sent or a call is made.

When we went after Billo, he talked about it on the air and he was forced to spring for a new softer ad. It was something, anyway.

Plus, Faux got 26 phonebooks that I know of.

17. Hah... speaking of Billo... I wonder if his continued drooling over underage females
would get their attention.

Did you see that about Hannah Montana last night on Countdown? Orally is SO GROSS.

19. I did see that. EWwwwwww!
I just can't bring myself to watch Billo so only rely on secondhand reports. But, yeah -- that has potential, for sure!

16. They may also worry
about the possibility of a Dem administration in 2009.

They didn't seem to be afraid of the Dem administration under Clinton.

11. If it is criminal then call the police. I just don't think the FCC would care.
Then again maybe homeland security. Maybe I am not just taking this very seriously. I'll excuse myself now.

7. You don't think a person who ENCOURAGED
rioting should be held accountable?

I'm not sure what the FCC will do (I was following Malloy's suggestion) - but maybe come down on him and his company? Fine him?

FCC regs and the law.

report him to the Department of Homeland Security for incitement to riot with the intention of disrupting an election.

26. Complain to the DNC, not the FCC

Rush Limbaugh is always going to be what he is -- I'm sure there are rules of this forum, common decency, time and space, and energy that make it impractical to describe that in detail.

The FCC wouldn't do anything about what he said. Rush knows what he can get away with and, as users of a free speech forum like this one, we really don't want to get into the business of shutting up even the most offensive voices.

What is the real shame is that the Democratic Party creates rules that allow republicans to wreak havoc in places like Florida and Michigan to help divide the party and to influence the Democratic primary vote with cheap tricks like Operation Chaos.

Let's face it -- if Rush could figure it out, it was an obvious weakness in the rules from the start.

I've had the bile creeping up in my throat as I've watched interviews with an 18-year-old superdelegate describe just why he thinks it's okay that his vote is worth 10,000 of my vote, and why it's just that he and a few hundred other people can completely overturn the combined decision of millions of democratic voters.

Rush isn't going anywhere. Even if the FCC were to take action -- and it won't -- Rush would pull an Imus, and be on satellite radio with an even more lucrative contract within a month.

If you're going to spend time lobbying anybody, lobby the Democratic party to fix its primaries so a simpleton like Rush can't find a way to exploit it -- and so that it doesn't implode under its own stupidity. Democrats should never again be put in the position of having to choose between discounting the votes of two entire states or reworking the rules during the voting calendar.
