"I won't vote for the other Dem"
Whichever Democrat you prefer, just cut the shit.

This is one place where I don’t mind saying “a pox on both your houses.”

Adherents of both remaining Democratic candidates are playing this card, and however wounded you feel by what the other campaign is doing (or is perceived as doing), there is a lot more than a dime’s worth of difference between our Democratic options and John “Bush’s Third Term” McCain.

Make the case for your candidate and/or against the one you like less. But if you want the next four-to-eight years to be even a little better than what we’ve just had, stop all this “I’m too good to vote for the second-best Democratic option.”

Pretty please, with “for fuck’s sake” on top.

28. Long before we'd all heard of Obama, I said I wouldn't vote for Clinton.
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 02:36 PM by Tesha
My unwillingness has nothing to do with Obama; of
the original eight, he was my seventh choice (with
Clinton being my last choice.) Rather, immediately
upon her Iraq War Resolution vote, I said that I
would never again support Hillary Clinton in politics.
And I meant what I said. I've had enough of voting
for Faux Democrats who vote with the Republicans.

So I don't believe it will happen, but if our party
is so monumentally stupid as to nominate Hillary
Clinton to be our standard bearer in November, I
will have no compunctions at all about finding
someone further left to vote for; I certainly
gave "fair warning" of the problems she'd face.

I accept that both groups are actually telling the truth about how they feel.

In the US we've been a long time without a real split in any party, I think we may be coming up on such a thing for the Democrats. The democrats have been fractious for quite a while and the link between the sides has been trouble for 20 years.

Not the question is is the link between the groupd going to become as irrelevant as it is artificial.

There is clearly a need to reorganize the coalition and that isn't a prospect for 2008.

Does it do that and give voice to both sides or does it do that and have the two sides go off in different directions?

IMO a defeat in 2008 is the end of the coalition of interests that pretends to be an organized party.

If Obama is deemed unelectable, and Hillary is handed the nomination , should we just embrace the blatant racism shown by the democrats and go along with it?

31. But she is yet another step along the road of the monumental collapse of our party.
Democrats used to stand for something and what they
stood for was opposition to discrimination of all
sorts and support for the working people of America.

The DLC, including Hillary, has turned that on its
head. She's campaigning based on racism and exactly
the wrong sort of class warfare. She's proven, time
and time again during just this one campaign that
she and her ilk all need to be purged from our party
so that our party can *ONCE AGAIN STAND FOR ALL THE
THINGS THAT USED TO MEAN SOMETHING* to the voters.

Continuing the slow slide into the swamp while
claiming that "But Hillary is better than McCain!"
is the way to long-term defeats and the absolute
end of the Democratic Party.
