Breaking: NC and "other" states WILL run controversial
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 03:01 PM by southern_belle
anti-Obama ads beginning next week, per MSNBC.

Norah O was just interviewing someone from the National Republican Party, and of course, they "don't want the ads to run" but have "no control" over what the 50 state Repub parties do. :(

1. This makes McCain look even weaker since it was his people who put out that they got
the ad pulled.

4. Not Really
He gets to have nastiness about Obama out there while seemingly taking the high road. It's a game, a vile ugly game, he's playing,

8. No more info right now. Norah is off
and someone else is on. I don't know her name. I'm waiting to see if it's repeated.

3. It's time we get this nominating contest over so Obama can spend his time combating McCain
rather than McCain and Clinton both.

5. Look, let's see what the damage is..if there's no damage to down tickets (which it shouldn't) then..
...let them air it. It puts the Wright issue out there after 3000 stories on him have been done in the MsM you've had to be living under a rock the last couple of months not to have an opinion on this issue already.

9. I thought they were trying to prove he was Muslim?
The Pastor controversy somewhat dissproves that, doesn't it?

7. So unfair ... no anti-HRC ads because they want to run against her
So we get a preview of the general election against him (enough
to scare off any SDs? dunno) but they're NOT tipping their hand
against her.

This tactic smacks of Rove (who just can't BEAR the thought of
only DEMOCRATS deciding who our nominee will be).

14. No, because they are assuming Obama is the presumptive nominee
It is always smart for the opposition to define a "new" candidate before he can define himself. This is what they are doing, as is the DNC with ads against McSame before McSame has gone on the air with ads of his own. We saw this work like a charm in 2004 when the RNC began running ads against Kerry in the spring.

I am sure Obama will be fine. He is immune to what happens to all "new" candidates running against non-incumbents and won't drop a single point after the rethugs attack him.

11. Two tactical guidelines to consider:
Muhammad Ali's 'Rope-a-Dope': letting your opponent wear themselves out banging away at a part of your body that does you no harm but causes your opponent to weaken and become extremely vulnerable in the later, most important rounds.

Military artillery placement: never, NEVER, fire any form of artillery, be it rocks to rockets, that will not reach the intended target.

The RW is going to bring it on and I say 'Get it started'...

A delay will not improve nor strengthen OUR position...and quite possibly just the opposite...

16. It can't be the one the NC GOP had because it wouldn't work
in other states. It's probably the new Willie Horton type ad about the death penalty and gangs.
