$3M wasted (somewhat harsh- I'm sorry, Clinton folks)
But I'm thinking about the money Clinton has raised since last night. What Clinton is now doing reminds me of televangelism.

That's 3 million Democratic dollars that have not only been wasted, dollars that could have gone to our nominee to be used against McCain, but it's also money that will be used against our nominee, and will need to be countered with more Democratic dollars that could have been used against McCain.

I'm not meaning to offend anyone that has donated to Clinton recently, and I don't like saying this- but those still giving her money are being suckered. You're being taken advantage of. She's not going to win, and giving her your money only hurts the Democrats in November.

Please, save that money and do something good with it. Think of it as tough love.

1. Obama has not won the nomination.
He is not yet the nominee.

It's their money, not yours.

I would deeply resent anyone who told me how to spend my money.

I'm fighting the urge to say "Who do you think you are?"

3. He has won the nomination.
He is the nominee.

Yes, it's their money. I expect many will resent what I'm saying.

But it's also true. That money is not only being wasted, but also requires us to waste more money in neutralizing it.

This is important for the Democrats. Who I think I am is someone who is saying something that should be said.

Take particular note that although he needs 2,025 votes to be declared the winner, he only has 1,494. Wait a minute while I get my calculator out.................................................................... That is still 537 votes short of the nomination.

He's not the nominee. He hasn't won the nomination yet.

are convinced what she says that she took in...that will be much more telling since we don't know how much she got donated/spent in April.
If she misspeaks about sniper fire, who is to say that her, um, fatigue has led to her, er, misspeaking again?

As of March she was 10 million in the hole. For all we know she is now 15 mil+ down.. 2 mil won't mean shit. That doesn't even pay her man Penn's last IU of FOUR MIL. And, if she does not earn a million each day for the rest of this month, the suggested 2 mil means nothing.
2 mil also doesn't mean shit if she can't KEEP that donation amount going for, oh , EVERY DAY from here on out.

And let us NOT FORGET that she literally pays (when she CHOOSES to pay) $500,000 in HEALTH CARE PREMIUMS each month (Aetna and Blue Cross/Shield)..that alone brings that 2 mil down to 1.5 mil.

Anyway you look at it, she is screwed. Do the cold, hard math and she needs to quit. Now. And I don't feel a bit sorry for those who are donating money to her..they can do the math, too, but are choosing not to do so.

36. If someone wants issues and concerns Obama's ignoring to be represented they have to back Clinton
. . . in this primary. The remaining contests are the only places where those concerns will get a hearing before the party folds its concerns in a bundle and faces McCain. If voters don't believe Obama is representing their interests and concerns adequately, they deserve to weigh in and force the issues in the remaining contests. Suggesting that they fold now and abandon those is incredibly short-sighted. Many of those Clinton voters, almost half the Democrats between them, haven't bought into Obama's candidacy. This isn't the time to shut down this close race and force those voters to capitulate to someone who they haven't yet supported in the numbers necessary to nominate him.

That's simply bullshit.

Your position is absolute bullshit. Transparent.

Not only is Clinton not going to win, noone is talking about issues anymore. Nothing even is coming close to "talking about the issues."

All that is happening is our party is being ripped apart and our chances for winning in November are being dashed.

And you want to get up on some bullshit high-horse and talk about democratic principles or some such?

Give me. A fucking. Break. There is no substance to your point at all.

38. If she really raises $10 million dollars in 24 hours, I'll be genuinely impressed.
That assumes, of course, that the money actually comes from individual donors. All her website says is that she's "on track for $10M in 24 hours." Who knows what that means. None of those words is a term of art. Perhaps she loaned her campaign $9.9 million and picked up $100k in donations.

I also agree that people who are supporting her now are basically throwing their money away. Unless you really think superdelegates are going to overturn the results of the elected delegate contest to deny the nomination to a candidate supported by an overwhelming majority of the party's most faithful supporters, it's almost impossible for her to win the nomination. The only two explanations for her continued candidacy are (1) bloodying Obama with the hope of helping McCain win so that she can run an "I told you so" campaign in 2012 and (2) getting her earlier loan to her campaign repaid (at a handsome rate of interest, no doubt). Either way, donor dollars are not going to get her elected this year. At best, they're going to help her run a campaign of recrimination in 2012, and at worst they're going straight into her pocket.

But that wouldn't make her fundraising any less impressive. (Indeed, it would make her fundraising all the more impressive.) If she really gets individual donors to give her $10 million in 24 hours, that will be genuinely impressive and really will reinvigorate her campaign.
