377. Previous recommendation record questions - please see Post #365 or look HERE:
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 08:15 PM by Hissyspit
:7

National Lawyers Impeachment Guild, Al Gore Nobel Prize Win, and Iraq Vet were previous record holder subjects.

ON EDIT: Well, here is post #365 since it is getting hard to find other posts -

understandinglife holds the record - almost 1,000 recs pointing to an impeachment thread I posted which he asked everyone recommend - the National Lawyers Guild Impeachment Resolution from last November. I posted it in LBN and understandinglife posted asking everyone to recommend it to 1,000. My original thread held the text of the resolution against Bush and Cheney, but ran out it's 24-hour time period, and everyone recommended understandinglife's thread, in which he asked everyone to read the text of the resolution, to about 970. The record before that by about a month (Oct. 2007) was my LBN announcement that Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize. It got 550-something. I may be bragging a bit, but I also like records. :7 Seriously, it was really great of understandinglife to call attention to the resolution text.

However, it is important to remember that there were many, many GREAT posts on DU before the recommendation system and the Greatest Page was implemented. This is all relative to a great extent.

The impeachment thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=2201269

No way do I have the talent to make that.

I found it here:

"All in the Games"

By way of my sis-in-law Lotta, here's a funky animated gif: Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton play the oldest game of all. (The text is early on from Neil Gaiman's Sandman, when Morpheus descends into Hell to retrieve his helmet and is challenged to a contest of wits to reclaim his prize, at the risk of unending torment.)

214. Me too, I can't wait to vote against her
on June 3! Problem is, I wish she'd get a clue and go the hell away long before that. By now, the primary math is clear-she isn't gonna get there just by the primaries, even with the PA win. If she forces the superdelegates to give her the nomination despite what the party's voters have said, all hell and back is going to break loose. But she doesn't care. She will destroy the party before allowing anyone else to have the nomination, she and Bill both. I never, ever, ever thought I'd ever even come close to saying such a thing about the Clintons, but it's crystal clear by now. And her Scaife endorsement is just unbe-freaking-lievable.

Staying in until the debts are paid, while still running up debts is just not sound. Sometimes you cut your losses.

8. Well, sorta.
I would assume, though, that she's leveraging her massive support for a reason. Since she can't possibly be aiming for 2025, she's looking for the VP slot, or a Cabinet position (hard to fathom)--or a way to circumvent the primary/caucus process completely.

At what point does her remaining in the primary race hurt Obama in the long term? I dunno; perhaps we've passed that point, or perhaps a united party could still win easily even if she doesn't concede for weeks or months. I really don't know, so I won't demand that she simply drop out.

Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 10:17 AM by shraby
"annihilation of Iran" remark alone, not to mention the fact that she's so far behind and can't catch up. Every primary she wins from here out, gives her delegates, but also puts a chunk of them in Obama's column and keeps him out in front. The only winner in keeping her in the race is the news media because of the advertising buys and viewership they have from the whole farce.

edited for terrible typing.

16. Why I think she should NOT drop out...
If she doesn't bow out now and drags this thing out to the end. Her and the Clinton's rep will have suffered severely and Obama will still win the nomination. As Obama wins the Presidency the Clinton's will fall to mediocracy if not for a long time, then forever.

If she stays in for the long haul and ruins the Dems chances in the general election. All the blame will be thrown her way and the Clinton's would be enemy #1 if not for a long time, then forever.

If she by some farce hijacks the nomination from Obama, she would undoubtedly loose to McCain in the general election, and then we've got a McCain Presidency. End of the Clinton's.

The sooner she gets out, the easier it will be for her to make a comeback in 4-8 years. I am willing to let her roll the dice and destroy her chances for good. Maybe her daughter will gain some sense after this and learn from her Moms mistakes, then maybe I will be willing to give the Clinton name another chance then.

Return on investment? Less than Zero.

She needs to hightail her thighs to Aruba and get the Hell out of the race.

The win at any cost mentality of HRC as evidenced by her changing her story and half truths has convinced me that we cannot afford to have her as our candidate. She has little concern for the people of this country, just for her position in the country. Last night's winner was clearly John McShame.

So, last night I made my first contribution to BO's campaign. I expect to continue to try to help as much as I can to rid our party of this stain on our principles. HRC, please go do something else for your ego.

Keep in mind also that Gore has remained quite distant from the Clinton's since his run in 2000, especially while he was campaigning, so who knows. I don't expect he is about to jump in the middle of this fray.

As for Carter, some say his endorsement in light of his recent attempts at foreign policy could be the 'kiss of death' for Obama at this juncture. Even though, I thought he accomplished more than this rethug administration would or could.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/03/jimmy-carter-hints-at-oba_n_94834.html

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0408/Carter_hints_at_Obama_backing.html

Bottom line, the democratic party is not really concerned with the endorsement of Gore or Carter at this juncture in the primaries, and quite less concerned with future Rethug talking points during the GE. (we'll reserve pudding pie for the mentally malleable)

Malleable–adjective

1. capable of being extended or shaped by hammering or by pressure from rollers.
2. adaptable or tractable: (the malleable mind of a child)

I never cease to be amazed at how much she is like George W. Power freak, tough guy, talk tough, war monger, stay the course.

She has essentially no chance of winning. I wonder if living around power for a long time causes a person to lose touch with reality. That would explain why presidents have such a tendency to make war, as if war is no big deal.

Why should she drop out? I don't see anyone suggesting Obama drop out when Obama falls behind. Last I looked, the two were pretty darn close.

Hillary's a fighter - the contest isn't over - let her fight as long as she wants to and has the resources.

I think the only thing she's doing is making Obamafans worried they might not win. If you're concerned about party integrity then I would fully expect whoever doesn't get the nomination to throw all their efforts to the nominee's side to help defeat the GOP in November. Otherwise all I'm hearing is a double-standard.

70. My post about Hillary winning 4 of the last 6 got moved below
George W. Bush won 31 States in 2000 and 30 States in 2004. Regardless of the Supreme Court had Gore won 20 States in 2000 he would be President today. Republicans usually win the most States but none of us think that winning the most States is what should determin our next President.

Most of the last 6 Primaries have been in high population States. Vermont, one of the two that Obama won, is an exception.

If Obama still seems like a good candidate to America's voters he should be able to win some States now with his huge money advantage. That is the key question. Indianna is a toss up state - let Obama show he can at least win there now before telling the candidate who is winning to drop out of the race.

That's why he is in first place and Hillary is a distant 2nd.

She picked up like 12 delegates. That doesn't put much of a dent into his 161 delegate lead.

would be Al Gore.

Clinton has a lot of support among the Party in the state so she makes a big deal about it. McCain will have huge support among the military and military retirees and the Republican Governor is a very popular supporter of his.

Better to leave Florida in the red column and worry about the states that Obama can put in play that Clinton can't.

308. What about that?
If someone consistently loses voters the more time she spends in each state, it really creates doubt about actual electability. The PA primary was a HUGE gimmee to HRC; the demographic is tailor-made for her people. Yet, she went from + 22% to +8.65%

That she couldn't articulate a blowout win there does not bode well. If we'd had another week there , we might have won by the same margin.

And at this point, there's no way she can get enough delegates to win. Not even with a string of minor miracles. When it reaches that point, it's time to be classy and graceful, thank your supporters, figure out a plan to pay off the debt, and bow out.

And if she's REALLY classy, throw her support behind Obama, but I'm not holding my breath on that level of class.

If she ends up fucking things up all the way to the convention, I can tell you right now I'll never forgive her and I'll never forget it.

74. And Obama is going to get stomped in Kentucky and West Virginia
...right after that. Indianna is a toss up State. Obama certainly has the money he needs to wage a good campaign there. That is the true test. Indianna hasn't recently been in the bag for Clinton like Kentucky has or like NC has been for Obama.

79. The true test is the delegate count
That is it. No one state's performance means anything at all....all of that is calculated into the delegate count.

Even though one side wishes to move the goalposts every few weeks, the metric remains the same.

So how can Obama's opponent get to that number (2025) without overturning the will of the Democratic electorate and destroying the Democratic party's chances in November?

88. Yes. The Delegates. All the Delegates. That's what counts.
As to "overturning the will of the Democratic electorate", here are my thoughts on that:

98. Your thoughts exist only in a vacuum
All that matters are the thoughts of millions and millions of Democratic voters, many of which will walk away from the party should Clinton manage to steal the nomination after she clearly lost the primary. The new young voters...gone....black voters....gone. Idealistic voters.....gone. Cross-over from the Republicans....gone.

You are not going to convince too many people otherwise, and holding McCain up as the boogeyman isn't going to stop the exodus.

You had better pray that come November you will not be holding on to your "the will of the people has no legal standing" argument while you sit in a party that has been emptied of its base watching McCain celebrate his victory speech.

122. For the record, for those who don't follow my link
the "will of the people" is a powerful moral force when it is both clear and measured by agreed upon standards. It can be argued that the will of the People in Texas and Nevada was to support Clinton but the delegates weren't divided that way. The popular vote is often an unofficial way of seeking to understand "the will of the people", though as Al Gore knows, it had no legal standing.

156. And to go back to my original question (which you did not anwser)
Do you believe that this type of hair-splitting legalese will placate Democratic voters enough so they will accept Hillary usurping the nomination from Obama without the pledged delegates, the popular vote, and the caucuses?

I assert that it will not. If Hillary gets this nomination when it is already clear she did not win the primary election in the states, we will have a 1968 style schism, and yes, the Republicans will waltz into office.

I hope that the superdelegates have more foresight than this goal-post moving logic.

200. You automatically presume usurping, so that colors your question
I do not. Under many circumstances I think SD's helping Clinton get the nomination now would be usurping, but not under all circumstances. I still see plausible scenarios, maybe not likely granted but plausible, where I believe it would be the appropriate action to take. And that is what I was writing about.

PA did not give her the numbers she needed to make a case. They keep moving the goal posts, and Grandpa McLoon is laughing his maniacal ass off, because he continues to get a free ride from the media whores.

She has no legitmate path to the nomination. Period.

And any so called "superdelegates" who would throw away the will of the people for the deliberate intent of electing John McLoon deserves to be excommunicated from this party.

84. Both of them believe: "If you never give up, you can't possibly lose"
According to the DVD audio commentary (Cleese, Palin, Idle audio track), the sequence originated in a story told to Cleese when he was attending an English class during his school days. Two Roman wrestlers were engaged in a particularly intense match and had been fighting for such a substantial length of time that the match had degraded to the two combatants doing little more than leaning into one another with their body weight. When one wrestler finally tapped-out and pulled away from his opponent, it was only then that he and the crowd realised the other man was, in fact, dead and had effectively won the match posthumously. The moral of the tale, according to Cleese's teacher, was that, "If you never give up, you can't possibly lose" - a statement that, Cleese reflected, always struck him as being "philosophically unsound".

85. This thread is low class
I am a bartender. I work in a restaurant that is in a neighborhood that is affluent. Business has declined. (the economy) I say we are off 25%. I was talking with the owner's son who used to work side by side with me (He can sling some drinks like me). Now he is the GM. He works his ass off. There is no free lunch in his family. He earned every step he he took forward. He was relaying to me that he is looking at every way to reduce staffing to save money and help those who truly want to make $$$$$. He was saying that he has to make money for mom and pop (who are also there from sun up to sun down). He has cut hours across the board. He has been regularly closing early to reduce cost. But it is something he knows is a short term cure but long term dangerous. He tells me how he hates to have to do it, but if he doesn't make adjustments his business will close and 40 families are gonna loose income. We are just one string of bad weeks away from serious danger.
During the progress of our discussion, he mentioned how he was destroyed because a Mexican dishwasher who works the hardest of all his employees had a problem with his check. He asked the worker to give him the check and he will cash it for him. The Mexican worker works from start to finish during the course of the day. The worker gave him the check it was $143.00 after taxes. Dale (the GM) was ashamed. How can this man survive (the worker)on that much. Both dale and I would lose our minds if we made less than that in one day. Whats worse is there really was nothing he could do with out putting the himself in the red. He and went back and forth about what can be done to help this guy. We both prayed god that the worker had a second job or something. Truly we both felt impotent to be able to offer a hand up to the worker. It sticks with me. I know the GM is not a capitalist pig he is willing to sacrifice to help, he won't sacrifice the restaurant that feeds 40 employees because of one worker, but he will seek ways to increase the hard workers income.
Thus far my company pays half my Blue Cross and Blue shield. Its $500 per month. we are paying for higher food costs and fuel costs. we have tried to absorb as much as we can without price increases. this is to stave off further declines in patrons attendance. we are all struggling together. Owner and employees.

This post is tasteless. No matter how much I support Obama, It is offensive to make this statement toward Senator Clinton or any of her supporters. This particular type of negative appeal is exactly contrary to what Senator Obama is appealing to. It is divisive and counter-productive. It alienates, anyone who would seek to leave the Clinton Campaign. Where is the message of Unity? If you are truly seeking to see Obama44, then make it possible to do so.
This primary has degenerated into a shit-fight. I congratulate Senator Clinton on her expected PA victory. She fought ugly and hard. I don't care for the tactics utilized in this victory. I acknowledge it and challenge all sides to do better.
For Obama supporters thank you thank you for whittling it from 20 point lead to 10. It was up hill and you guys fought hard all the way. you made each vote count. Now its Indiana and NC. Lets work harder and solidify a lead.
Democratic party members need help. Our economy needs help. We need health-care. We need to rebuild a great nation. We need encourage all to stop this madness that has sprung from the last 8 years. We all must share in the sacrifice that faces us. Our it will be to our common peril.

Realize ever-time you post a down with Hillary thread her supporters see that you want no part of her or her people. When we do so on a smaller scale we are acting like GWB. He refuses to engage only seeks to attack those who do not share our agenda. We need to look diplomatically at all democrats whether support Barack or not. Remember if he is the nominee (hillary supporter are right to point out he has not closed the deal yet) then we need to point out the reason why they should support our candidate and not diminish them for supporting theirs. Their candidate does have appeal otherwise they would not have gotten this far.

Perhaps that will be more to your rarefied tastes.

This is abuse of the system. The only way to win at this point is for Clinton to engage in ever more underhanded campaign techniques or outright theft. Is that high class?

She will be ushered out in the coming weeks. The calls for her to gracefully step down will step up. Will she be classy about the reality of her situation? I hope so.

which he asked everyone recommend - the National Lawyers Guild Impeachment Resolution from last November. I posted it in LBN and understandinglife posted asking everyone to recommend it to 1,000. My original thread held the text of the resolution against Bush and Cheney, ran out it's 24-hour time period and everyone recommended understandinglife's thread to about 970. The record before that by about a month (Oct. 2007) was my LBN announcement that Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize. It got 550-something. And, yes, I'm showing off. :)

The record before that was by an Iraq vet, if I recall correctly.

Did you know? In 1975, with their song "Fight The Power (Pt. 1) on the Hot 100, the act with the longest span of chart hits was by The Isley Brothers, who started in 1979 and were still charting into the 2000s. They started with the hit "Shout" in 1959 beating out Smokey Robinson and the Miracles by TWO WEEKS!

Actually, Kurovski says upthread that there was a 735 recommendation thread for how great FLDem5 is. I don't remember that one.

Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 05:29 PM by sampsonblk
Hillary Clinton is the one who has stayed on this stage far too long. It shows a complete lack of class. Huckabee stayed in the GOP race, but he quit saying bad things about McCain when it was clear he couldn't pass McCain for the GOP nomination. Hillary cannot pass Obama. Time to drop out was weeks ago.

Hillary Clinton gets the No Class Award for this election cycle.

barring some unethical shenanigans on her part. No way. She'd have to win every one of the contests left by 32% or more.

Ain't. Gon'. Happen.

Obama already won. He's going to win. He's going to be the nominee. Not even a string of miracles would do it for her now. And her campaign is in debt. So why is she still in?

250. She IS pro nuke y'know - To Oblivion whenever possible.
Perhaps she and LIEberman can form a "more aggressive" neocon style party (those guys are wimps in comparison and don't have the love of fighting for it's own sake that she has)
They can pick up whatever is left of Bushco, create the Imperialist party, hire Rove and steal the presidency.

Then use nukes on the Dems next time they are all together at a convention - just for the thrill of killing so many people with such really cool and powerful devices. The thought of destroying a city full of people (with lots of women and children to sweeten the pot) would really get her sexually excited. It would be foreplay before doing the same with a whole nation full of brown people.

She should drop out of our nomination however, not really a democrat once you get to know her.

217. Absolutely not...
Hillary is making her case that she is more electable. Period.

Obama is not entitled to anything he cannot earn through the process and if he cannot get enough delegates, then the super delegates should choose the one most electable.

Go Hillary!

PS I will vote Dem in the fall regardless.

Hillary and all those who continue to support Mrs. I'll Obliterate You should just go make their own fucking political party already because they've more than demonstrated they're not Democrats and they don't give a shit about the Democrat party.

Calling yourself a Democrat and registering as a Democrat doesn't necessarily make you a Democrat. When you support a corporatist who has a history of taking sides against labor. When you support a war monger who's also expressed that they'll vaporize millions of unarmed innocent people (little kids included). When you support a habitual liar who has displayed that they're willing to do or say anything to get their way and the truth and other people be damned. And when you support someone who's willing to ignore the majority vote in the Democrat Party. Then you are absolutely NOT a Democrat - Period!

Just go and start your own party already and call it the Confused Party.

Ever. ever, ever. ever.

Hill...look at yourself and think about dead meat. You should be totally ashamed and shocked at to what low level you have sunk. This is a shocking abomination. I am getting more mad the more I let it sink in. Cold war? How about a hot war over your hairdresser.

Hill.....do you know how mad we are at you. Do you know how you have shamed us who voted for you? Do you have any idea how outraged we are? Commander in chief? And you said Bush was bad. You. You. You. Look into the mirror. Yes I am outraged.

307. Her whole persona has changed. She is almost bitten by the bug of
power and challenge. It is like she has lost her mind to the potential office with all those weapons. Are we watching the will to power corrupt in front of our eyes? I don't mean to say bad things about her. But she has pushed beyond a serious concern for the people, the planet and the world toward a power hungry personality. It isn't about winning so much as a kind mania. I hope I am wrong about her. As the NYT said: Call the f...ing dogs off. I don't know if she can. The other side of feminism. Deep anger and need to control.

What's the point of this charade? To allow the media some ratings but most of all, to allow the repukes to win in the GE!!!

332. Previous record is 950 or so for a thread by understandinglife recommending my thread on impeachment
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 07:45 PM by Hissyspit
- the announcement and text of the National Lawyers Guild Impeachment Resolution. Doc asked everyone to recommend my thread to 1,000, but it ran out it's 24-hour period, so everyone recommended understandinglife's thread. It is documented at 760 in the thread, but I remember it falling just short of 1,000.

Here it is: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=2201269

Previous record to that was 556 recs for my thread announcing Al Gore's Nobel Prize. Not being an egoist here (well, maybe a little :) ), but because the threads had something to do with me, I happen to remember.

HRC has no class at all. She might have even been able to "steal" superdelegates away from Obama if she'd worked for the good of the party instead of trying to destroy it. She's not a team player, she's a cold, calculating, mean-spirited, petty, lying, small, self-absorbed, untrustworthy, scheming, manipulating, cold-blooded bloodsucker.

It has seemed more important to her to destroy Obama than to destroy McCain. For that, I can't wait to see her demise. What goes around, comes around--her own nasty shit has come full circle to bite her in the butt. Karma's a bitch.

391. understandinglife holds the record - almost 1,000 recs for pointing to impeachment thread I posted
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 08:13 PM by Hissyspit
which he asked everyone recommend - the National Lawyers Guild Impeachment Resolution from last November. No, I'm not an egoist, well, maybe a little :), maybe just the unofficial archivist?

The record before that was by an Iraq vet, if I recall correctly.

Everyone should remember that there were many, many GREAT posts on DU before the recommendation feature was implemented. This is all relative to a great extent.

Here is the impeachment thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=2201269

Here is the Al Gore Nobel thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=3025458

Don't you realize she's in the lead now? She won Pennsylvania. And if it weren't for "those people" at MoveOn.org well she would have already had the delegates and it would be Obama who would need to drop out.

Then years ago it was the "right-wing conspiracy" trying to destroy the Clintons. Ten years later it is the "left-wing conspiracy."

Always a conspiracy with the Clintons. Never mind there is usually basis to whatever public discussion has emerged with regard to the latest sewer they have fallen into.

I guess if she manages to steal the nomination, which is the only way she will get the nomination, and then loses to McCain it will be a "centrist-conspiracy."

394. K and R
Generally, I avoid the whole encouraging someone to drop out deal. I was an Edwards supporter and felt a little bit robbed when he dropped out of the race as early as he did...

Also, I understand where some of the more well-meaning Clinton supporters (although they seem to be a distinct minority on here) are coming from, who not only like Clinton but see her as a stronger candidate to face McSame in the fall. Looking at the polls, both Clinton and Obama have their different strengths and weaknesses. To be perfectly honest, I'm not particularly convinced that either one of them will be able to win the Presidency, but it looks like we're stuck with one of them. And personally, I prefer Obama. Clinton may be polling slightly stronger in a couple of important swing states, but some Clinton supporters seem to be neglecting the fact that she generally polls worse than Obama (in head-to-heads with McCain) in some of the bluer swing states that we can't take for granted, such as OR, MN, WI, etc.

She also has dismal personal approval, trust, likeability, etc. ratings. I just don't see someone that generally disliked by Americans winning the presidency. Neither Gore nor Kerry were disliked on that level, and still had to deal with all of the voters supporting Shrub based on wanting to have a beer with him.

If I thought there was conclusive evidence that Clinton's candidacy would be a slam-dunk proposition in the general election, I could perhaps better understand those arguing for Clinton to stay in and leave the decision up to the superdelegates despite Clinton going to the convention behind in terms of the delegates won based upon caucuses and primaries. But I haven't seen evidence of this. And I think whatever weaknesses Obama may have vs. McCain would not compare to the weaknesses Clinton will have if she is seen as basically "stealing" the nomination via the superdelegate process. For a political figure already so strongly disliked, this will only hurt her worse. She might still be popular with those rural white voters she has suddenly discovered the existence of (that is, the miniscule percentage of them who won't already be voting straight Repug in November anyway) but her gaining the nomination that way would likely lessen her popularity to an extent that it would be almost impossible for her to pull off a victory.

At the top of the main page on DU:

119,311 user registrations and 36,516,061 posts since January 2001

If we get to 1193 recs we will have 1% of all total DU users since its been started (active and tombstoned I think) recommending this thread! Let's see if we can hit that number or thereabouts by tomorrow morning!

And Obama is going to win the nomination.

Hillary may still be in it to win it in April 2009 for all I know.

because they get 80% of the campaign funds so they certainly don't want to see public financing

And two candidates are worth more than one?

Of course, Edwards and Kucinich weren't sending big bucks their way . . . !!!

... since they would argue that she has a "majority" of the popular vote of Democrats, and therefore there would be at least half of DU's active members that wouldn't rec this thread! :)

Oh wait, perhaps she lumps DU with that "activist crowd" at moveon.org that she's not fond of!

601. Stick a fork in her, she's done.
I'm tired of hearing her, I'm tired of looking at her.

I mean, I understand how she feels. She's been on this path to the Presidency for close to a decade. She's worked the DNC and DLC, the lobbyists and activists, the smoke-filled back rooms and the floor of the Senate, put in her time... and is seeing it usurped by an out-of-nowhere candidate that has people thronging to him by the ten thousand.

So she's pissed. But she has to get over it. She's a second-term Senator, for god's sake! That's a major accomplishment!

I'm sure a lot of people are viewing this thread multiple times, and each time it counts as a separate view. That doesn't mean that 10,000 have opened this thread, so I think your 10% figure is understated.

664. I noticed that too, tv hosts are not even trying to hide that they think it's a
joke anymore, and that's sad. I'm not just talking about those who get paid to make jokes, either. Hillary had a chance to leave when it was clear that she gave it a good try, and did well, but was just not getting high enough numbers. I wonder if and when they will realize how much damage this has done to them?

Once a thread has been around for that time period, it comes off the Greatest page...regardless of the number of recs the thread has.

660. Darn! 5 votes short of crossing the 1% barrier of all DU user registrations...

As noted by the message at the top of the page here:

119,340 user registrations and 36,526,943 posts since January 2001

if we'd gotten 1194 recs we'd have rec's from over 1% of all DU users ever registered (tombstoned or no). Oh well, that perhaps is a goal for a future thread now, which will be a floating target and higher later probably.

But it looks to me like she's directly colluding with the GOP and has been from the start. This is of course IMHO, but that's what it looks like. Notice for example that we never hear a peep from Junior, Dick and the rest of the gang while Hilly is swinging her hatchet.

714. Whoa. 1189 as I type
Rec'd earlier but wasn't able to get back to reply on my dialup. Found it again so I could add myself to the record here. I am completely sick of her and Bill and their goalpost moving. If this is how they run a campaign, imagine how they'd run the country.
