| 62. Caucuses are not the primary reason that delegates are used. |
 |
Each state wants a proportional say in the presidential contest. Irregularities in the voting process, access to voting stations, primary/caucus formats, open/close contests, media perceptions of landslides, the amount of time candidates can campaign in a state prior to an election, the media's portrayl of the importance of a contest, the voting registration process....etc, etc, etc....
All affects TURNOUT (a concept that is used to show why caucuses aren't represented properly in the "popular tally").
TURNOUT is dependent in primaries on numerous variables that are often uncontrollable to candidates and voters themselves. These variables would skew the state's ability to represent itself (and its constituents) if a popular vote was used. Hence, a delegate count is used to enfranchise the state in the process.
The intresting thing is (despite what Wolf Blitzer may say), SDs know this.

Extrapolating from CNN with ~10% of the votes in, she might get 150,000 more votes tonight. That's less than Obama's lead even with Florida and Michigan included (per Real clear politics, and if you have to rely on her Michigan votes to boost her #s, that's sad).

1 & 1 still equals 2. She will not be close in the popular vote. Are you another girl who says she can't do math. I fight that all the time with my sixth grade girls. They believe that because that is what their parents tell them that math isn't for girls. I explain to them that that is a sexist statement and girls can do math just as well as boys.
Add up the numbers she will not be ahead.

because the only votes that are legitimate are those that are cast legally within the process where all parties agreed to rules before hand. The only people who argue that the water is muddy are those with a political agenda to push one candidate over another.

nor does Fox News echoing a talking point change Dem primary regulations already pre-established and agreed upon by everyone. If Hillary cannot win within the pre-established rules she agreed to and with her lack of being able to show a shift towards a rejection of Obama, i think this angle only hurts the Dem Party as a whole by working to push voters out of the party from those states by trying to foster animosity by having it displaced at Obama when both states violated the rules.

The Goddess of War wants to start a nuclear holocaust and she hates and rejects democratic activists. She's a fearmonger and a warmonger.
She also lies to our face (along with her husband) whenever she can get away with it.
These are not the values that we fought so hard for over the past 7+ years. If the Goddess somehow becomes the nominee, the party will be fractured beyond repair.
Again, what are you celebrating?

why are you upset enough to say them so spitefully on a congratulatory thread? I smell fear.

Just wanted to correct the OP's dishonest attempt to change the original thrust of this thread.

Because I am growing all-too sick of the ultra-rude Obama folks on here. I've held my tongue for a long time. Now even though HRC has won, they cannot be gracious. They're still being jerks -- even though they were all so sure Hillary would lose. Well, a pox on them. Love the post Maddy!
