I voted for Obama, yo.
{If you're from Philly you'll know how to pronounce "yo" correctly.)

Yes, I wasn't too terribly excited about having to do it, but Hillary is just too objectionable to me.

I hope he wins big today so we can see the back of the Clinton mafia for good. A vote for Obama is a vote against aristocracy!

I've heard some voting machines are breaking down in West Philly, but I don't think there's any conspiracy afoot, today. The one I used was so antiquated Ben Frankin probably used it once, too. Creeky old voting machines in Philly is nothing new.

As I noted yesterday, the Hillary people just weren't out there, the place was lousy with the Obama people, though. I think they were just more orginaized and motivated. Motivated in a scary Moonie kind of way, but motivated nonetheless.

35. They are.
I've known several Iranians in my lifetime and they are good people. Generous and life-loving, like most ME cultures. And they have a *beautiful* country.

17. Probably because
the place was lousy with the Obama people, though. I think they were just more orginaized and motivated. Motivated in a scary Moonie kind of way, but motivated nonetheless.

I don't know how old you are, but I remember when people used to be motivated about the candidates they were supporting.

In the last 20 years or so, we've fallen into the habit of having to hold our noses to vote for "the least worst candidate." People dragged themselves to the polls and consoled themselves with thoughts of "Well, at least he's not a vampire -- I think."

So, I realize that for many people seeing people who are truly excited about a candidate could be scary.

23. Oh whatever, I used to be motivated, too, but after 25 years of voting for
the shit the democratic party puts out there as candidates, I find it very difficult to get excited anymore.

I didn't hold my nose when I voted for Obama, I like him, but you know . . . whatever.

Yeah, but a lot of Obama people
aren't as cynical as you and I. They're coming at this fresh and they're excited.

I saw this with JFK -- because he represented a break with the old men who used to run for office. Prior to JFK all the candidates looked alike. It was hard to tell them from the old farts who used to stand on top of the Kremlin on May Day. When JFK ran -- and won -- it was like a new page had been turned. People were really excited. That's why people were so devastated when the fascists murdered him.

38. Thank you for voting! And glad the "creeky old voting" machines are still being used.
Once Obama gets elected I want to get an effort going to ask the .gov to form a fully public effort to design and standardize a powerless voting machine. As if everyone is working on it. Flaws can be discovered and exposed before they end up affecting elections.
