How Soon Should Obama Challenge McCain to a Debate?
If he wins PA?

After he wins North Carolina and Indiana?

Sooner?

Later?

What say you?

11. They think he is good at them. They don't realize what O and his handlers do...
They can't connect the dots. There is a reason O is afraid of debating Hillary again...

2. October
After both have been actually nominated. Honestly, this is meant with no disrespect, McCain doesn't look good these days. He might be debating someone else.

10. If he can somehow pull it off he should never debate again in his career
He just sucks at them. He should stick to speaking to adoring fans who have a tendency to feint when they see the messiah.

15. Your bitterness just oozes from everyone of your posts. One of the high lights of Obama
winning the nomination will be that I won't have to see you whine any longer.

And that's a fact.

19. I have no power to ban you. But if you read the rules and you read Skinner's post
on the subject you will realize that once Obama is the recognized nominee you won't be able to whine at will.

and that's a good thing!

12. I think once he wrap up the nom he should take him an overseas
tour like Granpa McCain did, get his "Head of State" look on so America can contrast his overseas visit with the McCain and Bush's embarrassing overseas visits. Once americans see the love Barack will receive from around the world, I think it will make a lot of americans proud again even the white rural voters voters might come around.

14. I think you are looking at September, sometime after the conventions
before a debate happens. Both sides should officially nominate their respective person first. Once the primary season is over, I think Obama will pick up some steam and that may help him going into the debates. I'm not sure how many more "senior moments" McCain can have before his campaign totally implodes. Maybe he'll fall off of a stage like Bob Dole did in 1996.

25. Are you aware that there is a commission that handles debates for the General Election
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 11:51 PM by grantcart

Our Mission

The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates. The organization, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan corporation, sponsored all the presidential debates in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004.

And the debates are set for

November 19, 2007

Fahrenkopf, Jr., co-chairmen of the non-partisan, non-profit Commission on Presidential Debates ("CPD" or "the Commission") today announced dates, sites and formats of three presidential and one vice presidential debates for the 2008 general election. The dates and sites are:

First presidential debate:
Friday, September 26
University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS

Vice presidential debate:
Thursday, October 2
Washington University in St. Louis, MO

Second presidential debate:
Tuesday, October 7

26. as soon as he has 2025 delegates and becomes the nominee
until then, he is in a primary candidate

To call for a debate with McCain will just spotlight his arrogance once again.

and when McCain turns down a debate with a primary candidate it will make McCain look far stronger

But maybe that is what you have in mind, afterall
