Newsmax/Zogby Poll: Deadlocked in Pennsylvania!

UTICA, New York—With just five days left before Democratic primary voters go to polls to decide who they want to be their presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois are locked in a battle that is too close to call, the latest Newsmax/Zogby telephone poll shows.

The survey, which was conducted April 15-16, 2008 and came out of the field midway through Wednesday's contentious debate between the two candidates in Philadelphia, shows Clinton at 45% and Obama at 44%, with 12% either wanting someone else or left undecided.

The telephone survey, conducted using live operators working out of Zogby's on-site call center in Upstate New York, included 601 likely Democratic primary voters in Pennsylvania. It carries a margin of error of +/- 4.1 percentage points.

Clinton leads by a wide margin in western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh, while Obama leads by a large percentage in eastern Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia. In the central part of the state, including the state capital of Harrisburg, Clinton leads by eight points.

15. I agree. I crunched some numbers yesterday. The range of
Hillary's win will be anywhere from 6.2 to 16.4. That factors in
the error rate history of each recent pollster.

Now, with these new Zogby numbers, the new range is
5.3 to 14.3 for Clinton's win.

13. Sorry. I think he's lost his mojo too. Like when he had Obama
winning large in NH. But, you know, everyone likes
pollsters who predict the person they like will win,
don't ya think?

Bet you like ARG who's got as bad a record as Zogby.

22. You do understand that each time Zogby has shown Obama with a "lead" it helped Clinton
by moving the goal posts of expectation. If he had had Obama way down in his polls instead of way up Obama could have done a victory lap with a close second, Zogby made that more or less impossible.

25. interesting theory - never thought of that. I knew he had been way
off base - and thought it wildly uncharacteristic of him - And then, to read his
contorted explanation in NH....

But to purposely plant a false result out there...Hmmm. Guess he'd have to be
making a lot more from fixing than he could otherwise.

I can still smell NH. something totally amiss happened there - I will never
believe otherwise.

14. That is retarded ...
stay home ???

First, there are lot of other offices up than just the presidency ... There are house seats up everywhere, state and federal ...

Second, Pa's primary has not been "important" in a LONG time ... It could make or break Hill for sure ... People aren't going to stay home for the first time their vote has meant in the primary, it hasn't been THAT bad with these two ...

I am full out behind Obama now ... And, as someone else noted, even a year ago, he was the man ... But, his track record this cycle, especially when it has Obama doing better than the norm, is not real good ...

29. I hope so! I like Chuck Todd too - but lately he's been saying
kind of crazy stuff. Like Rush is not getting his ditto heads out to
vote for Clinton. I am in Texas, and at the polls on election day, I know for a fact (because
they told me) that they were voting for her.

What's your feel for the "operation chaos" in PA?

30. Don't trust Zogby.
Some of 04 and other results may have been honest snapshots before election fraud results, but since Newsmax picks him up, and does provide overtstaemnets resulting in comeback declarations, maybe paid for (as many pollsters favor who's paying, I just don't think after non-stop "bitter" ads and talk shock radio daily over same, Obama would be making such leaps.

Just so he keeps it close.

Learning from debates until now, and fast learmner generally, this debate his worst. Maybe a culmination of all the speeches and damage control he's had to do. I have no doubt he will be prepared come McCain debates after preparation.

McCain comes to "my friends" with earnest "sorry we have to have constant war" in comforting grandpa tones. I am sure Obama will have an answer.
