WOW, What a MELTDOWN!!!
The meltdown level anger on this board shows how biased and out of touch with reality many Obama supporters here are.

You blame ABC.

You blame Gibson.

You blame Stephanpolous.

You make wild claims that he gave Hillary the questions.

You blame Hillary.

You'd blame Helen Thomas if you could think of a reason.

You cry and cry about everything except for the fact that

Obama bombed. He didn't do well. The meters showed it. The returns showed that she won undecideds, and that overall, the audience

responded to her and not him. He blew it.

Those of you who dish the slime and viciousness at Hillary daily can't even take a debate result?

Were you the kind of kids at school who bullied everyone and then ran away crying if you go your nose bloodied?

(Hmm, I must be thinking about "A Christmas Story"!)

That must be because it feels like CHRISTMAS!!!!!

With 1,641 delegates, he only needs 43% of the remaining delegates.  Alexander   Apr-17-08 01:12 AM   #24
Oh, only HALF of them. Is that all?  LVjinx   Apr-17-08 02:29 AM   #130
He needs far fewer delegates considering the current poll numbers.  Alexander   Apr-17-08 03:53 AM   #160

And yet he isn't a member and doesn't vote their way on issues as much as Hillary.  Alexander   Apr-17-08 05:36 PM   #319
Actually, he only needs about 100 of the remaining 317.  tekisui   Apr-17-08 09:35 AM   #216

24. With 1,641 delegates, he only needs 43% of the remaining delegates.
He could get only 40% in every contest from here on out (which is not going to happen) and split the superdelegates 50/50 with Hillary, and he'd win.

Now, can you post any substantial information as to how Hillary could feasibly win this? Or are you just stealing other people's one-liners with your poor attempt at snark?

If the current polls are close to the eventual outcomes, he'll only need about 1/3 of the remaining superdelegates.

237. I'm not an Obama supporter; my trajectory was Gore->Kucinich->Edwards.
I'm not an Obama supporter. Of the "original eight", he
was seventh on my list. (Clinton was eighth, and "below
the line" for me which is where she has sunk even further).
My "support trajectory" was Gore->Kucinich->Edwards.

Clinton was clearly unelectable from the beginning,
polling as she did with 49% negatives *BEFORE* the
race even began. But thanks to the efforts of her
supporters, the electable candidates were all forced
out of the race.

So now we're stuck with "a scant chance of victory"
versus "no chance of victory". And Madam No Chance
is still in there, hammering at away at Mr. Scant
Chance.

Personally, I think McCain is entirely likely to
win no matter what happens from here on out. Well,
maybe the convention will do something massively
disruptive and draft Gore, but short of that, I'm
now fully expecting a McCain Presidency.

246. Obama has reminded everyone at every opportunity about Hillary's negatives.
He said at the beginning, "She'll say anything." No matter what Hillary says or does now, O's followers repeat, "She'll say anything! She'll say anything!" AFAIC, anyone who says that upfront about their rival is the one who, in fact, will actually say anything.

The man does not take the high road. Proof positive is that Robert Gibbs is his communications director. Nastiest piece of slime, bar none, in American politics. He's the one who kneecapped Dean on behalf of the Kerry campaign. No wonder Kerry and Obama gravitated to each other. FWIW, I think Penn is a POS, but nowhere near as bad as Gibbs.

137. This was similar to the previous debates except this time they finally gave him the business.
It's about time because in previous debates, she got difficult questions and they asked him how they could kiss his ass. Russert and Olbermann, etal, certainly aren't journalists anymore; they've lost all objectivity and have become Obama supporters.

365. The only way Hillary can win a debate is if she has 2 moderators helping her....
...The previous "debates" in this primary were pretty even. They tend to be careful with Hillary because she is a little unstable and might burst into blubbering or start whining about her haircut or whatever at the drop of a hat.

THis last ABC thing was clearly 3:1 against Obama. Surely you're not proud of Hillary "winning" only because she had the help of the moderator.

"The Democratic party has been unfortunately viewed by many people over the last decades as being elitist and out of touch we have waged elections over that you don’t have to think too far to remember that good men running for president were viewed as being elitist and out of touch with the values and the lives of millions of Americans.

327. typical, you lump all criticisms of Hillary in together
and ignore any shades of distinction or degrees of validity or proportion even among similar criticisms in order to reinforce the meme that any criticism of Bill or Hillary falls into "right wing talking points"

It's funny I find my self supporting Obama for the same reason that I supported the Clintons all those years ago, because his detractors seem increasingly unhinged blowing even legitimate criticisms far out of proportion.

You consider that a reason to vote a candidate into President of the United States of America? You feel 'compassion' for their station in life? If that were to be the case; if all of this were to be as easy as that, Dennis & Elizabeth Kucinich would already be measuring drapes for the WH. I'm sorry, but that makes the least sense of all.

352. Lesser of two evils, my friend, lesser of two evils
I was all set to vote for Kucinich until he dropped out. When I only had two real options left I decided to vote for the least bad. That was Barack Obama. I don't support him exclusively because his detractors are acting like Republicans circa (well any year really), but it sure doesn't help that the Clintons go ever increasingly negative.

The adoption of Republican talking points (for whatever reason) is a huge negative in my book.

Maybe its a positive in your book. I'm just glad my current candidate does not seem interested in using GOP talking points against Democrats. Oh, but I forgot ANY criticism of Hillary is a GOP talking point.

"Left" is getting hammered...on a Democratic Discussion Board!! Is this the DLC Underground?

http://www.nndb.com/group/269/000093987 /
New Democrat Movement

GROUP

The right wing current of the Democratic party, characterized by its neoliberal economic policies, support of Israel, desire to increase defense spending, and links to heavy donors and fundraisers.

Believes that "left-wing" positions are not politically viable. Describes itself as "moderate and pro-growth". Probably responsible for erosion of the Democratic Party's historical labor and minority base due to support of treaties like NAFTA, lack of support for affirmative action and poverty programs, and their siphoning away of campaign funds from minority groups.

At the national level, the movement was founded by the Democratic Leadership Council (501c4 educational non-profit, founded 1984) and includes the House New Democrat Coalition (founded 1997), the Senate New Democrat Coalition (founded 2000), the New Democrat Network PAC (founded 1996), the misnamed Progressive Policy Institute (501c4 think tank, "Bill Clinton's idea mill", founded 1989), and the umbrella funding group The Third Way Foundation (501c3 non-profit, founded 1996).

Since coming to power within the Democratic Party with Bill Clinton's presidency, the New Democrats/DLC have worked towards "essentially the same purpose as the Christian Coalition... to pull a broad political party dramatically to the right" according to John Nichols of The Progressive.

DLC operatives actively worked to sabotage Howard Dean's candidacy for the US Presidency in 2004, claiming that the "far-left" Democrat was wrong to attack George W. Bush's tax cuts and national security policies.

Corporate contributors to the DLC and New Democratic Network include Bank One, Citigroup, Dow Chemical, DuPont, General Electric, Health Insurance Corporation of America, Merrill Lynch, Microsoft, Philip Morris, RJR Nabisco, Chevron, Prudential Foundation, Amoco Foundation, AT&T, Morgan Stanley, Occidental Petroleum, Raytheon, and many other Fortune 500 companies.

The New Democrat Movement is sometimes referred to as the Dixiecrat movement due to the DLC's origination in the southern states, their desire to get rid of affirmative action, and their membership's overwhelming whiteness.

"Democrats should shift the primary focus from racism, the traditional enemy without, to self-defeating patterns of behavior among blacks" --Chuck Robb, 2nd DLC Chairman, Governor & Senator of the Great State of Virginia, White Man, 1986.

"I'm from the democratic wing of the Democrat Party" --Paul Wellstone, progressive Democrat, criticizing the New Democrat Movement.

"Democrats for the Leadership Class" --Jesse Jackson, progressive black Democrat, describing the DLC.

Obama voted for Cheney's energy bill http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/r... you're supposed to be Lib/Pro, so why do you say he would have supported the furtherance of the greatest energy scam in America's history. A scam that is now easily considered as having been perpetrated by war criminals, and war profiteers. Cause *no other Obama supporter* is able to explain it. And please do not point to the 3bil tax offset he made sure was in there. That is just fluff. To BigOil raking in the largest corporate profits in the history *of* corporate profits...that is chump change. And you know it. I do hope you understand that energy (read oil if you'd care to) policy is channeled through the likes of Cheney, Halliburton, ENRON, and oil/pipeline concerns & donors

I'm have no interest in your polling data. Polling numbers are more fungible than the numbers on Wall Street. I'm interested in your response as to why Obama voted the way he did, thank you in advance

212. Why did he vote for the Patriot Act?
No one need cherry pick. Obama voted for the freaking Patriot Act, Cheney's Energy Bill, billions in war funding, against the Uniting American Families Act, and frankly, he voted almost identically to his fellow centerist Clinton. They varied just once or twice. So the thing is, get a grip, get a balanced view. Some people see the votes and actions and see two conservatives, one of which is spouting rhetoric that makes the simple think his is Progressive. His votes are her votes. That is the whole story.
Harkin and Levin are not running. They are a tool of deflection for you. You are not promoting Harkin or Levin. The votes and actual actions of the man you are actually promoting are the questions here. Patriot Act. Energy Bill. War funding. Why? Why did Obama vote as he voted?
Tom Harkin voted for the IWR. So why are you upset at Hillary's IWR vote? It is the same argument. If Progressives like Harkin voted for it, why is it constantly brought up? Because it matters, of course, just as Obama's actual voting record matters. Not Harkin's or Levin's. Obama's and Clinton's. Not just Clinton's but also Obama's personal and actual voting record matters.

Murry, Leahy, Sarbanes, Sununu (*Sununu* for crying out loud), or Clinton, no; you have no answer for supporting a guy that is prepared to lie down with dogs, simply due to your skewed perception that he is what you hope he is. That hope is what *you* say it is for that matter.

You need to get out of the city more often imo. That is not cranberry extract, that is blood. Careful that you splash none up on you, Lady Macbeth. As I knew you'd have no answer.

Hm, Harkin, what a mystery. Maybe it's that ethanol thing that's already sucking up otherwise food producing tracts of farmland :eyes: Read the newspapers; not just what you want to read. World food distribution is in crisis, and being impacting upon by the war in Iraq and the hidden agenda energy policies that have sanctioned it all along.
