71. People are laughing at her desperate antics now. This is a bad reflection on Democrats...
...and on our country.

There is a long list now of stupid campaign maneuvers. Her campaign appears to be about as well organized as a box full of ferets.

People are laughing at her politics. We're used to people laughing at Clinton's DickGates, and have grown comfortable (and that is REALLY a shame) with being stained by his behavior and sense of judgment.

But now it's different. Laughing at a candidate because they are desperate and grasping at anything to win, because their political judgment is so, so wrong, and because she is unable to lead her own campaign....that's a lot more serious.

It reflects on Democrats and the Democratic Party, and in a very bad way. Because she is our candidate, and especially since Democrats still support her, it makes us look WORSE than the Republicans.

Even in their worst unethical tactics, at least Rove/BushJr led a well-organized, effective campaign. We can't even say that for her.

Enough. We need to win the GE, and she is dragging us down. We can't win if our hard work puts us one step closer to winning and one of her incredible blunders drags us two steps back.

She has to go. Even if she wins PA, it's obvious that she is clueless about leading a campaign, and that means her campaign will have the same problems n the GE it has had in the primary, and that she has real problems with being an effective leader.

We need to move on. She needs to go. Enough.

73. We all should be having an "oh shit" moment over this. It was another...
...of her unending political blunders. She caved in to peer pressure, for heaven's sake, and did something that made her look ridiculous.

By extension, she makes Democrats and the Democratic Party look ridiculous, and people are now laughing at her and, I fear, at us, too. And that is NOT good for our chances in the GE.

We need to win this freaking GE. She needs to leave the race now before she destroys our chances in November.

Generally that is the point of alcohol. Drugs have an intended effect on the body, and that is why we use them. Please don't tell me you drink wine or beer only for the flavor. LOL. No matter if you are drinking a few beers, a few glasses of wine, or a few shots you intend to get a buzz, relax a bit, and generally socialize with people around you.

or a cold beer on a hot day. Not saying I'm an angel, but there is a BIG difference
between enjoying a drink vs. slamming down a shot of whiskey followed by a
chaser.

And yes, I enjoy the flavor of dark beer and good red wine- at home even(!).
You're seem to be missing the point here though.

I enjoy the flavor of a good beer or a good red wine as well, but I don't drink alcohol for the flavor. I'm willing to bet that when you had your first drink, you weren't thinking to yourself, wow this taste great. Alcoholic beverages are an acquired taste. Like most of us I'm sure you like to drink in moderation to catch a small buzz and relax. Feel free to drop the facade and an accept that Clinton deserves a drink every now and then just as much as you.

That's what beer is SUPPOSED to be - not some vacuum packed, manufactured, mass-produced, plastic swill trucked in from 1000 mi away. Each neighborhood had its own brewery. You knew the guy who made your beer. You knew his family; you knew his kids.

Better enjoying a real beer than chugging a gallon of Budswill for a phony photo-op.

Just look at that "beer" she has: no color, no body, no head. You can tell that it tastes like shit.

Hillary isn't a beer drinker; Obama is.

What kind of role model does that set for our young adults?

She seems to be having the time of her life with that shot glass.

Have not seen her so happy during the entire campaign.

Remember Bill covering for her with the "misspeaks" saying how tired she was ~

at a Bar can get away with so much more than women can.

It's not so much that she is drinking but how she is taking the shot.

Is there a double standard, YES for women being in Bars and drinking with the "good old boys."

Most women that I know that are her age, especially running for office, would use better judgment.
Especially someone ready to answer the phone at 3 PM.

as far as we know she had one shot and one beer. Even if she were driving herself (obviously she's not), as long as she spent a little time there to allow it to settle, there's no way she would have been drunk. I think it was a bad photo op (particularly with the Canadian whiskey in light of the NAFTA flap), but tying it to drunk driving is going a little overboard.

<snips>

"Fortunately, my daughters already know that what Clinton did is wrong. At a supposedly irresponsible age, they know it's not cool to misuse alcohol to "fit in." Even for adults, even to win a big election, it's just. not. cool.

But Hillary Clinton -- the candidate who trumpets her experience and worldliness as predictors of her supposed good judgment -- doesn't seem to have figured that out. She's drinking in public to look cool and win votes. For the first woman with a serious shot at the White House to trumpet an unhealthy kind of drinking in order to gain publicity points, is to display either an utter tone-deafness to her role as a model for America's girls (and even adults), or a culpable willingness to ignore her moral compass in order to win. She's either inexcusably foolish or inexcusably calculating; take your pick."

But she either needs to walk the walk or alternatively get off her high horse. It's hard to take you seriously when your strategy is about highlighting the supposed differences between the "working class" and "latte liberals" and you clearly don't fit into the group that you claim to represent.

Again, I have no problem with someone who says that they can represent working class values and drinks expensive whiskey. I do have a problem with someone who claims they represent working class values, drinks expensive whiskey, and then smears their opponent calling them an elitist.

Although, in her defense, my prom date's dad was a Marine NCO, and Crown Royal was his drink of choice, so it's possible that Jon Stewart was off base making fun of her there. Still would have rather seen her drink bourbon.

57. Yes it is.
One way to kill any momentum you might have from a GAFFE committed by your opponent is to "jump the shark" in your quest to take advantage.

This only reminds Independents and unhappy Republicans that George W. Bush was a "guy you'd like to have beer with" who has destroyed our military, our economy, our security and our honor.

62. Americans drink a lot of alcohol.
Why would you think that people would be offended by a presidential candidate having a few drinks and getting to know some people. For those suggesting she was drinking crown royal to relate to rural folks, I suggest you get some sleep. Hard liquor and wine are for the large part consumed by people on the two coasts in more populated areas. The rest of the country is a beer drinking nation. You act like she put on overalls kicked her feet up onto a hay bail and popped open a bud. She had a few shots, its not like she was doing a keg stand or swigging from a bottle or anything.

79. But the similarity between these pictures is the phoniness
One thing the electorate picks up on is who is genuine and who keeps changing to suit their audience.

77. At one point in the video, she has a shot in one hand
and a beer in another. I think she should have just gone for the beer. That image would have been okay. No need to have a shot in one hand and a beer in the other. It looks extreme. Even if it were something else, like sandwiches or a sandwich and a donut. If you saw someone doing two-fisted eating, a bite of sandwich followed by a bite of donut, followed by a bite of sandwich, it would look like they don't know how to moderate themselves.

“Shot and a beer” is a normal occurrence in bars. Some people hit the shot first and then drink the beer after, as she did. Others drop the shot glass in the beer and then slam the who thing (a depth charge). Its not out of place at all.

83. I like one scene from that bar even better -- that's where she grabs her beer while holding the shot
"Nobody better have ... better have... better have drinked ... drinked?... drunk ... that's not it. Nobody better had touched my beer or there will be pay to hell!"
