He started off roundly dissing Democrats
as being too confrontational with Publicans.

Later went on and on revereing Reagan.

Then he snidely dissed the entire baby-boom generation of the left.

And now the working class see him as dissing them.

To be honest, I don't think he meant this as badly as it came off,
but he got off virtually scott-free on all the other stuff,
which I really do think was horrendous in every respect,
thanks to the Obama-adoring, -protecting and -promoting media.

So for however much there really is inherent in this gaffe,
but mostly for all the other disdainful stuff that he's said,
he deserves however much resentment this eventually gets him
many times over.

And maybe that's what this is, the culmination of his and his wife's
repeatedly less than flattering references to the people who've been
under the Publican heel, and who've been trying to fight back
if not just survive the experience.

21. How are Obama supporters a cult?
The dictionary defines a cult as "a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies." How are Obama supporters a cult? I certainly read this contention around here a lot, so I'm sure you'll have a comprehensive answer at the ready.

47. Not with all the Kool Aid references.
The implication there is Jonestown, Hale-Bopp comet, Branch Davidian, lunatic religious sect. If it were about a cult of personality there would be references to Stalin or Hitler --- it would be about the leader. The "cult" term, in this case, is meant to imply something about the supporters.

How did he "roundly diss democrats"?

I was pissed about his Reagan comments... but I didn't see his comments as "revering" the man... is a little honesty too much to ask? Also he took plenty of heat for that...

I remember people being pissed about the 'baby boom' thing... so... how did he get a pass?

As for your analysis of what the working class thinks... I only have one thing to say:

Hahaha... sorry... just a reference to an old song...
Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo
You're living in your own Private Idaho
Living in your own Private Idaho
Underground like a wild potato.
Don't go on the patio.
Beware of the pool,
blue bottomless pool.
It leads you straight
right throught the gate
that opens on the pool.
You're living in your own Private Idaho.
You're living in your own Private Idaho.

Keep off the path, beware the gate,
watch out for signs that say "hidden driveways".
Don't let the chlorine in your eyes
blind you to the awful surprise
that's waitin' for you at
the bottom of the bottomless blue blue blue pool.

You're livin in your own Private Idaho. Idaho.
You're out of control, the rivers that roll,
you fell into the water and down to Idaho.
Get out of that state,
get out of that state you're in.
You better beware.

You're living in your own Private Idaho.
You're living in your own Private Idaho.

Keep off the patio,
keep off the path.
The lawn may be green
but you better not be seen
walkin' through the gate that leads you down,
down to a pool fraught with danger
is a pool full of strangers.

You're living in your own Private Idaho,
where do I go from here to a better state than this.
Well, don't be blind to the big surprise
swimming round and round like the deadly hand
of a radium clock, at the bottom, of the pool.

I-I-I-daho
I-I-I-daho
Woah oh oh woah oh oh woah oh oh
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
Get out of that state
Get out of that state
You're living in your own Private Idaho,
livin in your own Private.... Idaho

...Attempting to spin Obama's actions and words to demonstrate what Hillary Clinton is actually guilty of.

The Democratic Party voters are learning what Hillary, her campaign, and *SOME* of her supporters are all about, and you know what?

Just like Hillary Clinton, the more the voters see, the more they recoil in horror.

60. Obama doesn't respect anyone but Obama
He's smeared Democrats as a whole more than once, also baby-boomers, Hillary obviously, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, and now to many blue-collar workers in the middle-class, them too.

He's been doing it since the start of his campaign.

Ronald Reagan is the only one I've heard Obama give anything more than perfunctory respect to.

My god, his very campaign slogan is a deliberate character smear.

Always shows respect to others? Yes, you've been missing quite a bit, probably because you want to.

64. As a young, voting Midwesterner,
I think he's doing ok. My generation saw the babyboomers fight like hell for Civil Rights, getting the voting age lowered, women's rights, and a whole host of other things (well, not saw, but are aware of), and then sell out in the 80's and put us in the mess we're in today. If you're still fighting the good fight, as many here are, good on you, but your compatriots sold us out long and hard. As a Midwesterner, from just up the river from Dixon, Illinois (a town that reveres Reagan more than even Tampico, if you can believe that) I understand the appeal of Reagan - charming, either very calculating himself or led by great calculators - a consummate politician. Being from a working class background, I see the bitterness he talked about a lot.

I don't think the resentment against him is going to be as strong or clear cut as you think.
