This is Clinton hail mary pass and its not going to work
because Obama's right and even Hill supporters deep down know this, We have a Dem Candidate telling people the truth instead of being Republican light. Not only is fuel up but so is food. Food inflation is at its highest in generations. here in Monterey the food banks are desperately low, people are not only losing their homes they are struggling to feed their families. This is not just something that will pass, this pain is cutting across all segments of society. Damn right people are bitter, Take for example the story Mr. Coffee, (Sun Bean Corp)based in Ohio. Right before NAFTA, The Average salary for its works force was $21 an hour, a good honest wage to raise a family in 1994. Well Sun Bean moves it operation to Matamores Mexico and pays its work force $2.47 an hour. Now that is even too much so they have moved to China where they pay 47cents an hour. Thank you Bill for this. The info on Mr. Coffee comes from the Global Class War by Jeff Faux

Also good info here

Congressional Republicans, Afraid of Obama, Throw Hail Mary Pass to Try to Keep Him From Nomination

"The motives behind the attacks on Obama are also similar. Of course Clinton is trying to deny Obama the nomination. She can't win, as is obvious to anyone who can figure out the delegate math, unless Obama drops out. So this is just another pathetic attempt at what the journalist Elizabeth Drew, writing about Clinton's tactics in this campaign, calls "molehill politics." If Obama is eventually seen as unelectable, then he'll have to step aside and, apparently according to the Clinton team, Clinton will become the nominee. At this point, that's her only way of winning the nomination"

The Republicans don't want to run against Barack Obama. And Hillary Clinton is parroting the Republican attacks

Honestly, you can attack all you like, but don't blame HRC for this "bone-headed" mistake.

4. Redefining NAFTA won't work for Clinton, it was a fucked up policy.....
the results which can be seen for miles! And don't forget China Free Trade. And make sure to include Colombia Union Member Death Squad killing government that added to the Clinton Bank account.

Hillary stated, they can just roll up their sleeves, speaking of the good people of Pennsylvania.....guess she says that cause that's what her and Bill have done, hey? :eyes:

5. Its not a mistake thats the point
its a misread by the campaign and false hope by her suporters. Are people happy with the direction the country is going where you live? Do they feel like Washington has their best interest in mind?
Also this was not an attack on Clinton it was fact based.

8. More than a misread - it is intentional misrepresentation. If it were merely a misread,
I'd give her (and even McCain) a pass! It is so blatantly a deceptive manipulation of the very voters she is claiming to care so much about. As you stated well: she and her supporters know this -- at least deep down somewhere. It is the pleasure of the hunt that propels this fantasy.

22. Exactly..
... they know what Obama is saying. They're just desperate to find a wedge any where they can.

It's futile, and it will make Obama stronger in the long run.

18. Taking away his identity by calling him "Barry" earns you what?
You profess to understand the importance of one's own identity, but you contradict your lofty words with your petty jabs like calling Barack, "Barry".

You are belittling and insulting.

26. I believe that Senator Obama's first name..
is Barack. Do you get some kind of a visceral thrill out of using his childhood nickname? Do you think it's demeaning, derisive...what's the feel good for you? I'm not sure what 'bone-headed' mistake you are referring to. Can you tell me what you find so offensive in this?
OBAMA: So, it depends on where you are, but I think it's fair to say that the places where we are going to have to do the most work are the places where people are most cynical about government. The people are mis-appre...they're misunderstanding why the demographics in our, in this contest have broken out as they are. Because everybody just ascribes it to 'white working-class don't wanna work -- don't wanna vote for the black guy.' That's...there were intimations of that in an article in the Sunday New York Times today - kind of implies that it's sort of a race thing.

Here's how it is: in a lot of these communities in big industrial states like Ohio and Pennsylvania, people have been beaten down so long. They feel so betrayed by government that when they hear a pitch that is premised on not being cynical about government, then a part of them just doesn't buy it. And when it's delivered by -- it's true that when it's delivered by a 46-year-old black man named Barack Obama, then that adds another layer of skepticism.

But -- so the questions you're most likely to get about me, 'Well, what is this guy going to do for me? What is the concrete thing?' What they wanna hear is so we'll give you talking points about what we're proposing -- to close tax loopholes, uh you know uh roll back the tax cuts for the top 1%, Obama's gonna give tax breaks to uh middle-class folks and we're gonna provide healthcare for every American.

But the truth is, is that, our challenge is to get people persuaded that we can make progress when there's not evidence of that in their daily lives. You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Um, now these are in some communities, you know. I think what you'll find is, is that people of every background -- there are gonna be a mix of people, you can go in the toughest neighborhoods, you know working-class lunch-pail folks, you'll find Obama enthusiasts. And you can go into places where you think I'd be very strong and people will just be skeptical. The important thing is that you show up and you're doing what you're doing.

13. Yes.
The Republicans perfected the art of the Fake Outrage, and now some Dems have taken it up. We shouldn't--that behavior is beneath us. If in our battle, we become like the enemy, what have we gained even if victorious?

11. One of the reasons
I admire and supported Biden, is that he told it flat out like it was. I felt as though he respected our intelligence enough that he didn't feel he had to couch what he said. I want a candidate who lays it on the line -- we've been treated like children and lied to for too long. Obama has my support.

21. I know I have another question in this forum that still has no answer
Question for Clinton Supporters if Obama is so out of touch,
an elitist and does not understand Rural America, then why did Bush win Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ohio, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Kansas the list goes on, you know the red states? Were they just so in love with his economic policies, foreign policy or was the GOP successful with wedge issues? The very issues that Obama brought up.

25. There should be a penalty
for throwing too many desperate passes.

In football you can only throw four and you lose possession of the ball. In politics you can apparently throw as many as you want without penalty. I'm not sure the voters can be counted on to penalize a candidate for seemingly endless acts of desperation.
