What is Obama going to do for the "bitter" voters in PA and elsewhere?
How is he going to help them if elected? Has he said anything?

Really, can we hear something positive from Obama and his supporters?

thanks. :hi:

11. He won't have his wife lobby for a Colombian free trade deal while he is against it
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 07:27 PM by SoonerPride
That's one.

Two, he will stem the flow of job losses by giving tax breaks to companies who invest in America. Instead of how it works now, givign tax breaks to those who ship jobs overseas.

3. War dividends will be reinvested in America.

12. thank you
well, at least for your 2nd and 3rd points.

I'm just trying to see if issues can be discussed in a more postive light, without merely criticizing the other candidate.

17. Point one is valid as well. With her spouse and Penn at odds with her stated position
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 07:33 PM by SoonerPride
It makes one seriously question if she IS against the free trade deal or not.

It does matter and is not merely style points.

It speaks to whether or not she will indeed be the champion of the worker or not.

4. Democrats who push this are just digging their own graves
Obama is almost certainly going to win the nomination and this spin of his comments is just going to hurt him in PA. Way to help make another fellow democrat lose come the GE Hillary supporters.

6. Obama made the comments.
If he loses Pennsylvania voters, he will need to blame himself.

I can't figure out if he lost the election with those comments or if he was, in essence, conceding it.

25. He has a comprehensive plan to transform the working-class and small-town areas of this country...
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 07:47 PM by smalll
including,

- a public/private partnership between the Federal Government and the Starbucks Corporation which will provide substantial tax breaks to encourage the opening of stores in areas of the nation currently lacking in access to lattes.

- the establishment of the Federal Makeover Agency -- the FMA will provide makeovers free of charge to working class and small town people who meet certain financial eligibility requirements. Classes will be run for men on the art of goatee grooming. People will also be kitted out with those glasses with the little narrow rectanglar frames, as well as black turtlencks, and of course, appropriate footwear: birkenstocks and other sandals, hipster-style pseudo-bowling shoes, dress shoes with a flat (rather than rounded or pointed) front, with buckles rather than laces. The federal government will also organize a nation-wide donation drive from undisadvantaged places (like San Fransisco) to collect gently-used items which can then be distributed through the FMA.

- a huge expansion in the funding of the Presidential Council on Physical Fitness to establish country-wide training programs that will expose the disadvantaged to sports they may not be well aware of, such as raquetball, windsurfing, and recumbent cycling. Once the people have more athletic options, maybe they'll stop bowling so much.

- providing free video cameras every young person in working class and/or small town America, so that they can all become independent film-makers.

This plan is desperately needed: only when we can turn the disadvantaged into latte liberals will they stop being such bitter gun-loving God-fearing anti-immigrant racists! They must be transformed! It's the fierce urgency of now!
