Face it. You people are IN LOVE with Obama. When you're in love, you embellish every positive
trait of the one you love and you refuse to see ANY negatives.
With stars in your eyes, that's all you can see. Love is bliss.

Well, I'm happy for you. Let's hope the love survives the honeymoon.
After you live with a person for a while and your kids start to call
you "stinky" -- things MIGHT change.

I'm not in love with Hillary -- so you can't accuse me of the same.
I just like her better than Obama for President. However, I realize
you're in love and you don't want to hear it. So, I won't try to
change your minds anymore. I'll see you after your honeymoon.

Don't forget the old song...

"Everybody Plays the Fool"

Fallin' in love is such an easy thing to do
But there's no guarantee that the one you love, is gonna love you
Oh, loving eyes they cannot see a certain person could never be
Love runs deeper than any ocean, it clouds your mind with emotion

Everybody plays the fool, sometime
There's no exception to the rule, listen baby
It may be factual, it may be cruel, I ain't lying
Everybody plays the fool

How can you help it, when the music starts to play
And your ability to reason, is swept away
Oh, heaven on earth is all you see, you're out of touch with reality
And now you cry, but when you do, next time around someone cries for you

Hey, everybody plays the fool, sometime
Use your heart just like a tool, listen baby
They never tell you so in school, I wanna say it again,
Everybody plays the fool .

14. No one should be in love with a candidate.
Politics and government are not about love.

I think it is dangerous to express that kind of feeling for any political figure. It leads to dictatorship.

Obama supporters wonder why people call them naive, and accuse them of behaving like cult members. And you wonder why.

75. Michelle Obama says her kids refuse to cuddle with daddy because he is "stinky"

Mrs. Obama: You know my hope in my gut is that I am just Mommy. I don’t think this part registers to them. I mean so much of our relationship is based on our world at home. It’s getting up _ you know we have this ritual in the morning. We get up and they want ten more minutes so they can come in my bed and if Dad isn’t there _ because he is too snore-y and stinky, they don’t want ever to get in the bed with him _ but we cuddle up and we talk. We’ve talked about everything from the boy that one daughter doesn’t particularly like in school to what is a period to _

On all sides, really. What happened to the conservatives after all? With their small government? They got infiltrated by a belligerent group with its own totally different values, who shouted with machismo and bashed everybody else who didn't agree. It was the neocons, whose policies aren't either right or left, they are rooted in secrecy and domination. Everybody should be on guard against stupidity here.

24. LOL! I'm certainly not in love with Obama
My preference for him was slight ... it took a long time for me to come off the fence and decide to support him, after Edwards dropped out.

However, as time goes on, the conduct of the campaign has resulted in a deepening respect for Obama, and a diminishing regard for Clinton. Let me put it simply: Her conduct of this campaign has been shameful and harmful. She has a tremendous command of issues, but her character has been revealed and quite frankly I do not like it.

The next President must not be McCain. If Hillary steals the nomination (the only way she can secure it at this point) then I will still vote for her in the general election. A couple of months ago, I could have said quite honestly that my vote would have been cast with pride. Now, I know it will be cast with resignation.

36. The last time I noticed the Clinton Cadre pushing this idea
I pointed out that the shoe fits them much better.

Virtually every Obama supporter knows their candidate is not perfect but views him as the best candidate despite those faults

On the other hand the Clinton Clique:
refuse to accept any criticism of the annointed one;
ignore any and all faults;
claim dirty tricks as the reason their beloved is losing;
whine about how Hillary or Bill used Obama's ideas before Obama.

I don't really care how much these usual suspects gyre and gimble, I just wish that they could go off and have their menage with Hill and Bill then come back completely sated. The rest of humanity could concentrate on getting the warmongers out of the White House.

51. Excuse me, but that's a smelly, pile of horse shit.
First off, who do you think you are to question the motivations of a huge group of people simply because they don't agree with your choice of candidate?

And secondly, it's offensive to have someone postulate that they are better than a whole group of people and to call that group "fools" based on a difference of opinion.

I'm not in love with any of the candidates. One is simply a better candidate than the others.

If you don't understand concepts like deciding which candidate to vote for based on things as alien to you as issues, which one is the better Democrat, which candidate has better integrity, and which one is better suited to make the decisions required of a President, then you have no right to be calling anyone a fool.

68. I'll admit that I sometimes put him up on a pedestal
But I know he's not perfect, and I don't expect that he'll be able to fulfill all of his campaign promises (nobody ever is). I do believe that he is more genuine and more authentic than most politicians, and I like that he seems to still have some of his idealism despite having gotten as far as he has. I don't think he's perfect, but I also think he's better than most politicians because he's not so jaded and bogged down with favors owed to special interests yet. The fact that he has such grassroots appeal and has been able to raise so much money in small donations means there's a chance he really will be less beholden to the corporate fatcats than most presidents, and he really might be able to make at least some changes in the way business gets done in Washington. I am not naive enough to believe that it will happen overnight, but I do think there is a potential for meaningful change with Obama, and I don't think that is possible with someone who has been around as long and made as many deals as Hillary. I don't believe Obama is perfect, but I do believe he is a genuinely decent person. I may put him up on a pedestal sometimes, and sometimes he blows me away with his speeches, so I can't say the premise of your post is entirely wrong. But I have put a lot of thought into my decision, and held back for a while on picking a horse in the race even though my heart said Obama the whole time.

69. I voted for HRC, but now back Obama because he's the winner.
She can't win and I now back the party nominee.

I don't love him, but I respect him, which is more than I can say for you.

71. Case closed.
This thread illustrates perfectly why our rightful president fell out of love with politics.

73. Y'know, when you say you aren't in love with Hillary....
...you just think she'd be the better candidate. Fine, that's your right but you are obliged to give others the same courtesy. Granted, a certain faction of Obama's supporters (and Clinton's, for that matter) are just plain batshit but the majority of us believe he'd make the better candidate. Just the same as you feel about Hillary. No, he's not perfect. I'd prefer it if he had a bit more experiance and he's not as progressive as I'd like but I think he's the better candidate.

82. Well, thank you. You are the first person I have heard admit Obama's not perfect.
I respect your position. If Obama wins, I will be
happy for you. I don't hate Obama the way many here
hate Hillary.

It's just that if the Republicans can destroy Kerry
by besmirching his incredible military career, they
will have an extraordinary field day with Obama.
I do believe Obama is more vulnerable than Kerry was.
Granted, he's much more popular -- but -- (and this
is a huge but) -- let's see how popular he remains
after the Republicans start slinging the REAL dirty
shit.

I wish him luck. If he survives the mean GOP machine
he will earn my eternal respect. I hope he has the
fortitude to make it through to the end.

Personally, I just believe Hillary is tougher. And
I think we will need a tough person in the WH this time.

76. If O wins it all seeing how Obamites react to his presidency will be entertaining
They hate the Clintons. Guess what they are getting with Obama? He isn't Paul Wellstone...The only thing that will allow them to realize this is Obama being in the Oval Office and having Clinton-style policies/

77. Hey! I CAN see Hillary's faults. However, I have never heard or seen an Obama supporter admit that
Obama has ANY faults.

I see plenty of faults in Clinton.
I see plenty of faults in Obama.
I can admit the faults I see in Clinton.
Can anyone here admit ANY of Obama's faults?

Just curious...

81. Jeez..we all have faults..
but not all of us lie, cheat and steal to get what we want...on camera. Hillary was a perfectly good candidate until she started running such a despicable campaign. It is not about love/hate. It is about choosing a candidate to be the President of the United States.

80. I guess the same can be said of those who hate
they magnify the perceived negatives, they look for evil in all things and they don't the positives or the possibilities.

hate seems to be such a dreary, draining emotion ...

83. Not really
I simply porefer him over Clinton.

I will go as far as saying Clinton has started to piss me off more and more, but I don;t think that equates to loving Obama.
