America's Lula
(from email quoted at Kucinich's site)

"Hi All: This afternoon as I left my part-time job in downtown Seattle to take the bus home, I saw a homeless woman. She was bundled up against the cold. All of her belongings were piled onto one of those little wheeled contraptions used for luggage, tied together with bungee cords. Under the bungee cords, displayed prominently, was a Kucinich for President sign. Her own version of a bumper sticker. Her own statement of hope. If she can get Dennis' name out there, we can. "
- R. Weinstein, Seattle, Washington

Believe it or not, this illustrates part of why DK isn't pulling in millions. Like Lula in Brasil, Dennis Kucinich represents the poor.

1. Ain't that the truth
Every time I hear about the awe-inspiring fundraising powers of whatever candidate, I wonder why people insist on giving such legitimacy to the selling of democracy. We have to approve and participate for it to work, right? We legitimize it.

2. If you can tell me how a candidate will win with little money,
you got me. I'm yours. Now tell me how this works in American politics, again?

3. If it's all about money, Scott, then it's an auction and Smirk wins.
Unless you're ready to concede to Bush, then you don't really believe it's all about money either.
