This was in response to Ellen asking her how it feels to be asked to quit the race. Now we can wait for Obama to say "White people..........." What a crock! C'mon Hillary, quit the poor little girl act.

1. Her candidacy has always been about the first woman president.

Obama would lose automatically if did that type of thing.

I think it points to two different challenges for them.

She needs to appear strong and tough enough to be president. People are probably less worried about a woman president being too strong than too weak. And, everybody either is a woman and/or was born from one, has female family members, etc.; far fewer are black and/or have intimate family connections with someone black.

It's a different challenge for Obama. He might believe that if he continually emphasized being black, too many other voters might be put off. There's also a different dynamic about the "strength" issue. He could certainly say he fought discrimination to get where he is, as Clinton has, to show pride and strength; but as I understand it anyway, too many Americans are fearful of the strength they perceive in young black men. So, I'm no sociologist but I think it's something like that. It wouldn't work for him; if it did, he'd be doing it.

8. Hey, I remember boys in preschool telling me to stay out of the sandbox.

When they explained they were digging for buried treasure, I told them there wasn't any and left.

In kindergarten, girls weren't allowed to use the one tricycle. (Yes, we had a tricycle in the classroom.) That was because the boys needed it to get their energy out or something, and there was a play house for the girls.

I could go on!

So I dunno what she was doing, but I don't think it's unfair to say, especially with a smile. I think she says it as a show of pride and strength, not at all "poor me."

If she was talking about unequal treatment for girls and boys, ok, but why "quit"?

She's older than me, and even I remember a lot of pressure from boys to quit one thing and another. That was my point.

I just think she was trying to show toughness in a way.

She's made other statements like this that I see as a way of trying to show toughness, tenacity, etc. I see it as the opposite of "poor little girl."
