I fuckin' hate her
She's going to go to North Dakota and try to steal delegates. She's saying it on television right now. There is no such thing as pledged delegates.

All the people who have voted, fuck 'em. Doesn't matter. All that matters is what Hillary wants.

Fuck her. I hate her. I said it.

192. Like this?...
"There are elected delegates, caucus delegates and super-delegates,..."

Like there's a difference between elected delegates and caucus delegates. That sniper-fire must have damaged her.

"Even elected and caucus delegates are not required to stay with whomever they are pledged to. This is a very carefully constructed process that goes back years, and we're going to follow the process."

"Late Update: Hillary spokesperson Phil Singer e-mailed Election Central to say that his previous statement on this — that the Hillary camp has not and will not pursue Obama's pledged delegates — is still operative and that there's been no change of position. It's worth noting that in the Newsweek interview, Hillary didn't say outright that she would be pursuing them, and merely stated what the rules governing the delegates are (which can be read as implying possible pursuit of them later, of course)."

You don't really want to stop the lies, do you?

Do you ever post anything of substance?
Single-line posts that are the equivalent of "Nuh-UH" with absolutely nothing to back them up. It gets very tiring - what about at least attempting to state a case rather than just a steady stream of denial and ad hominem?

222. He has been happy to claim the votes of superdelegates from
districts that supported HRC -- even though his campaign is trying to convince everyone else that superdelegates should only vote like sheep, following their pledged delegates.

If there is a way to get more of the pledged delegates votes, then I'm sure he will do so.

And more power to him -- I don't care. This is politics. Whoever runs against Rove, Obama or Clinton, has to be willing to do everything legally possible to win.

224. It's one thing to believe in hope. It's another to be a doormat....
Even though most Obama supporters are Democrats, they aren't all doormats.

We will remember that Hillary, as Senator, voted more often to endorse Bush Jr's neocon agenda than she did to help the rank-and-filers who needed her help the most.

We also are quite aware that she has regularly attacked Obama's supporters. We understand that she thinks we are stupid and delusional. She's made that quite clear.

But I guarantee you by the time this election is over, there is one thing she will KNOW we aren't: Doormats.

The Bartender said, "Hey... we don't serve your kind in here."

"You mean strings?"

"Yeah!"

So the String walked out, went to his car, tied his upper half in a sheep-shank, and parted the top every which way...

He walked back into the bar and asked for a drink.

The Bartender said; "Hey! Aren't you that string that was in here a few minutes ago?"

The String replied; "No... I'm afraid not."

140. No she won't. Obama's ahead by 130 delegates...FL and MI won't make up the difference.
You're not very good at math, are you? You probably think it's sexist.

Here's the current total:

Obama - 1,631.5
Clinton - 1,499.5

Here's the delegates from Florida and Michigan:

Obama - 67
Clinton - 178
Uncommitted - 55

Here's the new total, with Florida and Michigan included:

Obama - 1,698.5
Clinton - 1,677.5
Uncommitted - 55

See? She's still 20 delegates behind. And that's not including the uncommitted delegates, who will probably not cast their votes for Hillary Clinton.

Did you fail remedial math?

The 1980 convention was notable, as it was the last time in the 20th century that either major party that a candidate tried to get delegates released from their voting commitment. This was done by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., Carter's chief rival for the nomination in the Democratic primaries, who sought the votes of delegates held by Carter.

60. That's the way the game is played
Not to mention, it was a caucus -so the "will of the people" argument is relatively weak.

There are a lot of reasons I don't care for Hillary (most of which have to do with policy) but playing to win isn't even remotely among them.

Indeed, if more Democrats learned how to play- or had the political fortitude to do what it takes- the country wouldn't be anywhere near the sorry shape it's in.

I see that as a silver lining- because Republican play for keeps- and don't care one iota about ethics or "fairness." in the process.

Too bad it has to be that way- but there's no denying that's how it is.

Hillary has every right to go after every delegate that's been promised to Obama. Similarly, every single one of those delegates have every right to slam the door in her face and laugh uncontrollably... which is exactly what will happen in this case.

229. Do Obama supporters really believe...
... that Hillary has a chance in hell of swaying even one Obama delegate over to her side? Even one? If you do, then I don't think you understand the process very well. Let her beg her enemies for favors. It only makes her look completely desperate.

How do Hillary fans actually get any glee out of this? Do you actually prefer your candidate look this bad?

You're either crazy about her or you hate her. That's it. I have never met a person lukewarm about Hillary. Ever.

She is at least as polarizing as Bush.

Many of us have come from supporting other candidates first.

I was for Biden then Edwards and now Hillary.

I can support her without being a zealot just as I can not support Obama while still liking him and thinking him a good Dem.

122. I know what you're trying to do, and it's not lost on me, but
You cannot deny that Hillary is a very polarizing figure.

Without even mentioning independents or Republicans, Democrats themselves often have extreme positions on her. And it's not new. My entire family is very liberal, and will vote for a yellow dog given it's a (D). But to hear their opinions last fall about an impending Hillary presidency, well, they weren't excited.

And it's not just about my family. My friends, even a feminist grad student I have movie night with just does not like the thought of a Hillary presidency. I asked her specifically about it three weeks ago. She wants a woman president, but not Hillary. It's the Clinton part that gets in the way. Many lifelong Democrats do not trust them.

You have to realize that a great many people link the economic losses for the middle class of the 90's to the Clintons. My area lost a ton of good paying jobs to NAFTA and other free-market measures. Those feelings have not gone away. Plants are still closed. Walmarts keep opening.

I'll recognize that you probably know some people who are lukewarm Hillary supporters. As crazy as that is to me, they probably do exist. It's just that in my part of the country (and from what I've heard most people say, all over the country), it would make no sense.

I was saying that I know what you're trying to do - in a positive way. That's why I said it wasn't lost on me. You were being constructive, and I appreciated it. I was really trying to thank you.

Maybe it was worded poorly, but it certainly wasn't insinuating any sort of conspiracy or meant to make me out to be a jerk.

What I can't get past is the obsessive hatred of the opponent (who comes from the same party!) and willingness to give up policy principles, which are similar between Barack and Hillary, and opting to actually vote for McCain (Bush with another face), which 28% of Hillary supporters are. In any other election, i might understand. But after 8 years of Bush.. Are those people completely insane?? I'm an Obama supporter, and I wouldn't for a second consider sabotaging our (Dem) chances this fall because of a silly infantile vendetta. However wins fair and square should and will get unified support from democrats. Period.

but I've been through too much to expect any candidate to be the answer to my dreams. I don't have to love them to want to support them.

In my case, however, I'm still bi-candidate. I'll be happy to support either one in the general. In the meantime, all this infighting is discouraging.
