Prediction: Within the next 10 days, The Clinton Camp will plant a New Obama controversy
Whether the controversy is a real or if it is completely fabricated.

The Clinton campaign's back is against the wall. Obama is continuing to get noticeably more superdelegates than Clinton. He is outspending her in ad dollars in PA. The PA polls are starting to close. Bob Casey's endorsement and support has gotten huge coverage. Hillary's Bosnia gaffe hasn't helped.

And Hillary Clinton must win Pennsylvania. She must.

Behind the scenes, look at the way Carville and Bill Clinton are behaving. Look at how the Clinton campaign is framing every single thing they can as anti-Obama. Everything must be blamed on him even if they have to ignore/deny their own culpability. And now insiders finally admit the Clinton team fundamentally believes this black person - perhaps, any black person - cannot win the Presidency in this country.

In their minds, the Clintons have no choice but to save the Dem party from themselves. They're heroic.

So desperate, fiercely angry and feeling completely justified in the "rightness" of their actions, I predict the Clinton camp is feverishly working on a new controversy to hammer Obama ala the "NAFTA accusations of Ohio".

It will be ugly. It may even be a lie. But the news media will lap it up like dogs.

In my mind, the only question left is how prepared is the Obama camp. Because it will happen.

Past behavior indicates Team Clinton has no other choice.

1. I think that's why they're so desperate. They've run out of scandals.
Rezko ended a while ago, and Wright was put to bed. The only thing they can now play off of is gaffes.

3. There's no such thing.
They may have run fresh out of factual, real faults to attack him with, but they can always make something up.

Hell, the Rovians clobbered Max Cleland, Vietnam Vet and true American patriot and hero, by morphing his face into Osama Bin Laden's.

Never underestimates the depths Hillary and her Rovian allies will sink to...

At this point, I will Hillary leave the room while Bill C, Mark Penn and Carville cook up whatever they need to.

11. On the bright side, Hillary was already outed as a pathological liar.
The media may lap up whatever bullshit she spews, but most of us will look at any attacks she makes with a very jaundiced eye.

19. Well, yea...........
.......there is the pool-boy, the gardener, his barber - all of them might have at some point and time said something that could be considered controversial. And I mean, we must question then why Obama didn't distance himself from whatever they said and/or why they weren't fired and replaced with more patriotic, agreeable people.....

The last week of the campaign will be all about their tax returns, whether they release them or not, so they'll need to move quickly. And they will.

The 12th of Never, that's when.

Seriously, I think her camp would rather deflect the tax returns issue than release them and risk a myriad of eyebrow-raising.

17. Not to worry

The Reverend Wright is the gift that keeps on giving. Rezko is the unopened gift, and that angry wife has to emerge from witness protection some time soon. I expect someone might slip and remind the good folks of PA that Barack has a middle name too. Did I mention that he has no resume for CEO of the largest corporation in the world. His resume could not get him a managers job at WalMart.

Not to worry, the Clinton cabal are sharpening the knives. Like the movie title... There will be blood!

You're right about those. But I think most likely they'll do both.

The robocalls only work on those that doesn't question the info they're presented on the call. I think they need a wider net.

21. And they would be right
Obama has no chance of winning the White vote in the GE. The primary voters are not a good indication of the voting public over all. Obama did well in the earlier primaries among White voters and he polls lower as he gains more publicity. Once voters consider there is a possibility of actually electing a Black man the enthusiasm brought on by the novelty will die down. The voters in Nov. will reject Obama for many reasons, but the melanin thing is a deal breaker for the majority of Americans. Sad but true.

This is the dirty little secret that Hillary knows. The media is in love with Obama and has given him a pass on serious flaws in his character and resume. For this reason we are going to get an un-vetted candidate coming out of the Convention. We did not vet Kerry's war hero story that got shot down so easily, and we are not going to vet Obama. The RETHUGS will vet him day and night. Game, set, match.

Hillary knows Obama is going down in the style of Mondale, but she can't do a thing about it. She can only hope he self-destructs. The fact that Obama is getting 90+ of Black voters is going to get middle America a little nervous too.

20. I agree. And I think the angle will be patriotism.
They know this will be a major tentacle of the upcoming GOP attack on Obama, so I have a feeling the Clintons will float it first. I'm not certain how, but pretty soon I think we're going to be talking a lot more about flag lapel pins and Michelle Obama.

Even if that's not their angle, something's coming. They've got to stop this slide in the PA Polls and the avalanche of Supers flocking to Obama. Before Ohio and Texas, the "Kitchen Sink" consisted of Phony NAFTAGate, "Shame on you, Barack Obama," the 3AM Ad, Saturday Night Live throwing down with Hillary, the Drudge "Somali Garb" photo, et al.

Something's in the pike.

39. And as if on cue, Karl Rove speaks!!!
See? This is what they think they've got on Obama. This shit was gold between 2002 and 2004, but times have changed, Karl, The One-Trick Pony. Lapel pins don't put gas in your car, so good luck with this line of attack.

There are Democrats, particularly blue-collar Democrats, who defect to McCain because they see McCain as a patriotic figure and they see Obama as an elitist who's looking down his nose at 'em. Which he is. That comment where he said, you know, "After 9/11, I didn't wear a flag lapel pin because true patriotism consists of speaking out on the issues, not wearing a flag lapel pin"? Well, to a lot of ordinary people, putting that flag lapel pin on is true patriotism. It's a statement of their patriotic love of the country. And for him to sit there and dismiss it as he did...

22. It may win her PA (Not by much) but the after effects are what destroys the campaign.
NAFTAgate she is still reeling over.

Also she does not have the funds to maintain such a position.

No what she will try to do is paint herself to be some kind of desperate hero who needs dollars to continue. Rocky, next it will be references to the past or whatever.

She just can't afford to launch into another Attack stance. She is neck deep in debt in my view and it requires good funds to launch into an offensive while she has been on the defensive since Ohio.
