Sorry to dissapoint Obamabots but Hillary's weakness in polling after Bosnia was a temporary thing
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 06:08 PM by Herman Munster
The race is going back to equilibrium. Obama had a huge polling day on Saturday in the Gallup tracking poll and that will go out of the sample in tomorrow's numbers. Expect things to be very close to tied in tommorrow's poll.

Looks like Obama is experiencing some blowback now for getting his lackeys to strongarm Hillary into quitting the race.

No wonder the bat signal went out to Pelosi to tone down her rhetoric. It's starting to hurt Obama.

106. His lies???
That is hysterical. She was the one who said she'd never been for NAFTA and the official records proved that to be a lie. And it was her campaign who whispered to the canadians as they also openly said it was her campaign not Obama's. However she did get her drama queen on when Obama sent out flyer's about her pro NAFTA stance.

Are we really that far apart here on facts? If so we are in SERIOUS trouble and all I can say is the republicans are probably dancing a jig with every day that goes by.

86. The rich corporate elites no longer control the Democfratic Party, thanks to Dean and Obama...
...They've shown that a strong election can be built by seeking the support of the rank-and-filers.

If you look at Hillary Clinton's bending over for the rich Dem elites to get their money, it doesn't seem to be such a good strategy now, does it? She thought she didn't need the rank-and-filers, but it's Hillary who can't pay her bills now.

Say, did she ever pay off the campaign debt to the Boy's Club of East Jesus, Idaho?

19. This rebound is the Bosnia effect I predicted. The public hates Hillary bashing.
Last week's dip was the Easter "Judas" effect--an unusually quick negative response to Carville because of the Easter weekend and people making their once a year trip to Church where they said "I never!" to each other. It blew over quickly.

Then, they saw "Gore is a liar" Part II and they were outraged at the press and Obama as it dragged on and on. That is why we are seeing Hillary's polls rise. The Obama camp still has not shown that it has the political maturity or finesse to win in a contest with McCain. Karl Rove will make mincemeat out of Axelrod, who knows some old school campaign tricks that will not work against McCain.

Obama needs a new campaign manager. I have been saying this for months. If he is the Party's great savior why does he have to keep getting other people to try to bully Hillary out of the race? Why can't he just win a clean race? It is because Axelrod is second rate and does not know how to run a winning Democratic campaign. I am fed up with Axelrod blaming his own incompetence on Hillary. He may be good enough for Chicago but he knows jack about what national Dems want and need right now.

He doesn't have half of the ground game that Bush had, no doubt due to the low spirits of the GOP. With Clinton back it would be as if Satan himself had been nominated. They may not vote FOR McCain but the will work and vote AGAINST Hillary.

Yesterday, everyone was too busy to goof off. Today, not so much.

Both the uber lefties and the uber righties where having a field day with the Bosnia thing. The vets (and relatives of vets) were pissed off and the left was even more vitrolic than the right.

They were cracking me up.

Good news was that a few Clinton supporters in the office hadn't heard all of the gory details. They were rather surprised to know how far off base her lies really were in being removed from reality.

Better news is that we all vote in PA this month.

Obama Fails to Assuage White Indiana Voters With Speech on Race

Heidi Przybyla 1 hour, 11 minutes ago

April 1 (Bloomberg) -- Andrea Helmer was interested in Barack Obama until she heard sound bites of his fiery pastor's sermons. Last week, she volunteered for Hillary Clinton's campaign in Indiana.

``As things came out regarding some of the things his pastor has said, I got concerned,'' said Helmer, a 36-year-old respiratory therapist and mother of two in Evansville, Indiana.

Interviews with dozens of Democrats in this overwhelmingly white region -- where voters will go to the polls in the May 20 primary -- suggest residual concerns over the controversy involving Obama's former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

……..

Unease Among Whites

Still, there are stirrings of unease among white voters, including those who fear the issue will hurt Obama in a general election. Pew also found that 39 percent of all white voters said the controversy made them less favorable toward Obama.

"The recent intense focus on Wright is complicating Obama's efforts to appeal to some in culturally conservative southwest Indiana, which has a record of electing Republicans and conservative Democrats. Evansville is 86 percent white and 11 percent black."

No wonder they care so much about Wright. That's a great place to sample for democratic opinion.

The demographics of Indiana are very, very complicated. The southern part of the state is essentially the same as the South -- rural, redneck, racist. Note that Evansville is across the river from Kentucky; and, take a look at the poll numbers in Kentucky.

You might check out how Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Gary, and Lafayette are responding. Guaranteed, it will be a different story.

rodeodance, you need to bring something to the argument other than your obsessive hatred for Obama. It colors the conversation ... know what I mean?

33. I love all these fools ...
who think they know how to analyze polling numbers. One day it shows a jump for their candidate, and there's all these 'reasons' why, as if they know why. The next day the swing goes the other way, and that person stays quiet and hibernates until it swings back their way just so they can go 'YOUR CANDIDATE IS TANKING'. YAWN.

Stop relying on polls to bolster your candidate, whoever it is, it looks foolish. When Hillary has a 15 point lead in the next Rasmussen, all that talk about todays poll will show to be wasted time.

Initial positive/negative reaction to a "this is the end" occurrence, then it evens out again -- very quickly.

I think we're becoming numb to it all. Desensitized.

I said {i]always check it. Not just when your candidate is "ahead" or "behind." Trends are similarly hard to demonstrate.

58. Here's a good chart for ya... two actually.
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 08:44 PM by FlyingSquirrel
Made this up on Excel -- Delegate Totals over time. When more than one state voted on a particular day (such as Super Tuesday), then I put them in order by time zone from East coast to West coast, then alphabetical within the time zone - then abroad. Enjoy!

Chart 1: Pledged Delegate totals INCLUDING Michigan and Florida

*Uncommitteds in MI added to Obama's total.

Chart 2: Pledged Delegate totals WITHOUT Michigan and Florida

I take great pride in noting that the point where the totals began to really diverge the most was right after my home state of WA caucused!

:)

this happened on four different occasions, and on one she said they sent her because it was too risky to send the president
That type of lie is pathalogical. I have seen it in other people who are emotionally unstable

81. Not many Obama supporters or McCain supporters will support HRC....
I am encountering more and more Obama supporters like me who will not vote for HRC. Besides the fact that she is not a leader and has proven herself as unethical as Bush Jr/Rove ever hoped to be in campaigning, she continues to disrespect Obama supporters at every turn.

The latest is her blaming Obama supporters for the call for her to get the hell out of the race, and she LIES when she does it. She wouldn't DARE blame it on the SDs or media who have called for the same thing. No, she tries to turn America against Obama supporters by saying that Obama supporters are calling for her to get out of the race because they want to cheat the remaining states from voting in the primary!

People are calling for her to get out of the race because she can't win and because we need to unify the Democratic Party, if we can, behind Obama...although HRC has pissed in the well so often, that may be difficult to do. In fact, this last statement will make sure that the more gullible Hillary supporters will be believe that Obama supporters don't want people to vote, which is an outright lie. In addition, they will still vote, just like they have before when the race was decided before their state's primary.

How any Obama supporter can consider ever voting for HRC now is beyond me. She has dissed us every step of the way, and now is saying that we don't want Americans to vote.

That is the last straw for me. If she is able to cheat and win the primary (because she cannot win on her own merits, that is obviously true by looking at her campaign tactics), I will immediately sign up to volunteer for McCain. I was just going to sit this election out if that occurred, but I guarantee you I'll be walking precincts for McCain if HRC is the candidate.

96. AND to those who decide in the last week
You have to remember, many people never look at the DU, decide based upon one or two hours of study, one or two lies and mis-statements.

Those people are not likely to vote for Hillary, after the last few weeks.

And I'm quite sure that there'll be many who would much prefer neither of the above.

the only thing that this tells us is that our two candidates have been neck 'n neck for weeks. These little daily ups and downs don't mean anything. Barack and Hillary are both made of teflon!

And... that means.... we have two really STRONG candidates. Together they will beat the pants off the GOP this fall.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
