Obama to Clinton: Keep on Running
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Barack Obama refused Saturday to go along with other Democrats who are calling for Hillary Rodham Clinton to step away from the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"My attitude is Senator Clinton can run as long as she wants," Obama said.

Obama told reporters he did not agree with one of his supporters, Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, when he said earlier this week that Clinton cannot win the nomination and should therefore drop out. "I hadn't talked to Pat about it," Obama said.

1. Smart move
Staying out of the intra party squabble.

Letting the super delegates push Clinton to quit probably has more value to the MSM anyway.

2. Of course he is gracious
He can afford to be magnanimous. He's winning. I don't Hillary is feeling as generously toward Barack.

5. A losing candidate offering the VP is not gracious...it is ARROGANT!
Who ever heard of a loser offering a winner the VP? Un-heard-of. Except in Hillary-speak.

6. this is the most beautifully subtle strategy I've seen from his campaign.
She's being marginalized by the day as the nutcake twisting in the wind. Before long, no one will be taking her seriously. I love it.

10. Amazing how little this seems to be remarked here.

Especially in light of the incessant yammering to stop running against him, for a thousand frivolous reasons.

12. So, if Obama loses the general, his supporters wont be able to whine that it is Hillary's fault...
This should be interesting

16. Oh, rest assured I'll still blame her
I can't speak for other Obama supporters but If you don't see how a long fight puts us at a disadvantage you're blind. Obama didn't really mean Hillary should stay in. He's taking the high ground and letting the party leaders work shit out.

15. notice he didn't really say that she "should keep on running"
he said that she should run "as long as she wants".

All the headlines seem to make it appear that he thinks she 'should' keep going, when all he said was that she has the right to do so.

It's funny to see the media spin this into an Obama endorsement of Hillary's campaign.
They are struggling for anything to make her seem viable.

17. The media spotlight will be bright and harsh
on the nominee. Hillary helps Obama hide from it.
