I just made another Contribution to Obama's Campaign!
Monday is the last day of the month, so I figured that I would do it today, just in case. Maybe I'll win the Dinner gig. Ooh boy, wouldn't he get an earful! :)

Won't you Obama supporters join me?

11. Sweet! (Every time I read a nasty remark from the HRC camp, I send him another donation - so you
can imagine how broke I am.

But it feels great. Will send more as soon as I get my head above water.
Have been in and out of the hospital this past week, so I need to make sure my insurance is paid up!

40. You know that little e-mail that pops up after you give?
The one you send to friends and says "I just made a donation to Barack Obama's campaign and I want to invite you to join me"?

How many of these can you send before triggering someone's spam filter?

My sister's kind of cheap too. Her excuse is that she wants to wait a while before giving more so that he can use it against McCain. I'm not going to let her get away with that since he's been using his money wisely and doesn't have much debt. I'm still amazed the Black-Eyed Peas wrote that song for him. Maybe that's what I need to attach to the donation letter? Good luck with your cheap cousin. I'm working on my frugal sister too.

17. I've already taken your advice..
I find it funny that this man has been able to convince me, the cynic's cynic that maybe we really can make a difference this time. I never donated a dime to a politican until the last election and the Kerry/Edwards campaign. And even when I did that, although I respect Senator Kerry, it was more of an "anybody but Bush" donation. This time is different though. Every penny I give is in belief of his message, and not out of fear or desperation. It is such a good feeling to be involved in a positive way rather than that desperation. I have now donated to the Obama campaign 5 times, and after the strongarming done to Dean and Pelosi the past few days, have donated to the DCCC and the DNC (which I've never done), and will continue to do so until he's the president. And I know if he's managed to have this effect on me, it must be happening to millions of other people who always were cynical or apathetic about politics. The whole thing is just amazing to watch. :)

25. I've made two
since the "dinner" announcement....
they were relatively small (under $100) but every little bit helps, right?

I will be envious of the lucky winners, but how cool is that idea?
Can't wait to see how effective it is...

26. A Question
So, for those of us with a VERY rigid budget.

I have donated exactly half of what little money I can afford. I donated a tiny bit to Kucinich, but the majority went to Obama, after he proved his mettle to me in February.

Now I have a dilema. I dont know exactly how it all works, but I know there is some sort of deliniation between general and primary. Strategically, is it better to donate now, or wait to donate what I have set aside to Obama in the General? There is 0 chance that the 2300 limits come into play for me.

29. I do hope you win, FrenchieCat.
They obviously read the notes people write, and seem to pick those with compelling stories. And, of course, they always seem to pick at least one former Republican.

I cannot donate, as I am maxed out--but I did it over a year's time, but all before the first primary in Iowa.

GOBAMA!

34. So did I. Through Act Blue.
I wish they'd stop sending thank you cards though. I got another one today, and I think one is sufficient for recurring donations. I get emails from Sen. Kerry, who I also donate to monthly, and I prefer that to snail mail.

Of course, either can call to thank me if they like.

44. Nope. I don't give money to politicians.
It's almost never money well spent, and almost always foolishly and treacherously misused. 'Tis the nature of the beast in a corrupt system.

If you think the drop you've made in Obama's chests is going to buy anything approaching the influence Wall Street has bought with him, you're dreaming.

Which may be a pleasant return on your money, I grant you; if so, go crazy.
