Two petitions for one America
I have two petitions I'd like you to sign. The first is a petition to John Kerry asking him to make John Edwards VP. It's here:

I think that Edwards is the best choice for VP. He's an articulate speaker who delivered a gaffe-free performance throughout the primary season. As Bill Clinton said, Edwards "could talk an owl out of a tree." My interpretation of that remark, since an owl is the symbol of the goddess Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom, is that Edwards can bring wisdom down to earth and make it practical for us.

Edwards is exactly what we need to bring excitement to the ticket and shift some of the focus of this year's election discussion onto domestic issues, where Bush is extremely weak. Edwards is right. We do have two America's: one for Bush's wealthy supporters, and one for everyone else.

Another way we have two Americas is this: We have the America of our ideals, our principles, and our Constitution, and we have the America of George Bush's government, which is rapidly becoming fascist.

The second petition I'd like you to sign is called "Declaration of Independence from King George." It's based on the original Declaration of Independence. It's intent is to show that the Bush administration is not patriotic, that they are in fact a real threat to democracy, and that we intend to vote Bush out of office in November. Here's the link to that one:

Anybody can sign the Declaration. You don't have to be an Edwards supporter! ;-)

I am also looking for people to mirror the Declaration's text on their web sites or post it to blogs along with a link to the petition. Here's a link to the text in HTML format that can be copied:
