Getting back to basics....THE ISSUES *Disability and Autism*
OK. Let's try an experiment. So many of you have asked for the issues. Why not post how each candidate feels about them rather than concentrating on what is in the news.

For one, I am concerned about one of my grandson who has high-functioning autism (thanks to his vaccines). I want to know what the candidates will do for the disabled and here is what I found on Barack. Maybe we need to share things like this (and this is in video form so it it easy on your eyes) and educate each other on how the other candidate feels.

The more I like him. (And that is unusual for a politician.)

3. Are you saying he's high-functioning because of
his vaccines? Or that vaccines caused his autism?

5. Clinton's War on the Poor hurt my friend and Autistic daughter
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 05:09 AM by crankychatter
She has severe autism, but with dietary modifications and extensive research, my friend enabled her daughter to learn how to speak, to run, to play, to help in the kitchen, to make eye contact and make her needs known. The girl sings like an angel and cuts celery like a chef.

The work-search requirement for single mothers on welfare, as signed by Clinton included a 10% exemption for single parents with severely disabled family members....

BUT, rather than enforce this, using deprivation of block grant federal funding as an enforcement tool, the States were permitted to demand that these mother's LOOK FOR JOBS when the jobs pay one tenth as much as Child care would cost for a high needs, disabled child. so she survived on 200 a month from the ex, and whatever it is they got from medicare.

So, many many thousands of Mothers with disabled children are terminated... no welfare.

She had an extra broken down, 25 year old car in her driveway that she couldn't afford to tow off. They said it was worth $400 and now, NO FOOD STAMPS EITHER.

NOW, subsidized housing refused to let her put inside locks on her house. With improved cognition and the onset of puberty, this autistic child is something of an escape artist. NO EXCEPTION would be permitted... and in one of her daughters running away with no clothes on, escapades...

The police were summoned and they took her daughter away. They strapped her down and accidentally overdosed her by giving her an IV sedative that was supposed to be administered subcutaneously, AND to which she has an allergy.

Then they put this girl in an institution, where she sits to this day, over-medicated and without her mother's abiding care.

Clinton did this.

Now I come in this armed madhouse... and I'm a sexist for passionately supporting an alternative candidate... ya know what I mean?

8. that was a good one....the village comment....read on
I'm saddened by your friend's story, cranky. Fortunately, for my grandson, my daughter and son in law both had good jobs as teachers and they caught his early with good intervention through their Health insurance. Today he is in a Catholic school in Kindergarten this year thanks to a 7000 scholarship from the McKay scholarship program for kids with disabliities here in Florida where he is thriving and the only thing he has difficulty with is tying shoelaces.

But, for people like your friends who have no help, you can see what could happen.

I feel that the vaccines (which the Bush family is heavily into through Pfizer and other pharmaceuticals)were the cause and/or our environment is also a contributing factor.

I hope that Obama will certainly make sure that these kids have that mandated health care and screenings and that in your friend's case that they would have help.

9. Disability issues concerning the learning disabled
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 05:57 AM by mmonk
is the reason I got into politics. Obama is solid in this area and would be a great counterweight to our rightwing court system that doesn't like the issue.
