Latest Ohio Poll
I don't put much stock in these polls and I rarely post them ... but I will say this, if bush loses Ohio, he'd better start looking for a baseball team to buy ...

here's the latest ARG poll on Ohio:

source: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&e=2&u=/ap/20040513/ap_on_el_pr/ohio_poll

Kerry was at 49 percent, Bush at 42 percent and Nader at 2 percent in an American Research Group poll. Seven percent of the voters in the poll said they were undecided.

In a two-way matchup, Kerry led Bush by 50 percent to 43 percent.

Some dems are complaining about Kerry's campaign style ... looks like he's doing pretty well to me ...

1. Tim Russert keeps saying that Ohio is the key this year
If Ohio is the Florida of the 2004 election, then this is good news.

2. I'd bet that most of the dissension toward Bush comes from
Cleveland-Akron-Canton and Toledo.

Cincinnati and Columbus would vote Republican if their candidate were Saddam Hussein himself, just because he's Republican. The same goes for the rural parts of NW and west central Ohio.

3. Gore won Columbus in 2000
and they have a Democratic mayor. Though you are correct about Cincy.

4. depends on how you define "Columbus"
Columbus proper is probably about evenly Dem/Rep. But there are several big close-in "suburbs" with their own school systems, police/fire depts., mayors, etc., that are Republican.

12. Gore also won Montgomery Co.
in the greater Dayton area.

There aren't many of us down here but we're ready for a fight. We still need paid, trained, professional staff from the Kerry campaign. When we receive that, the Repukes can bring 'em on!
