Lots of Emphasis Now Being Put on North Carolina
On paper, my state North Carolina is a very good state for Obama. Lots of colleges, a few Black centered areas, upper-middle class areas...but due to the recent PPP poll from last week, it has caused some to think Clinton could win there and really change things. Or on the other side, Obama could win NC (and Indiana) and pretty much end Clinton's campaign. I think this is a growing meme from the MSM because no one thinks Obama will win PA...so there's nothing exciting there. We need to watch the polls. I want to wait for someone more reliable than PPP to release more updated polls from NC.

1. GOALPOST MOVE ! LOL - Harold Ford just said "The Winner of NC will be the nominee"..
this is all just too much, as another poster said, theatre of the absurd.

2. First time since '88
This is the first time in 20 years that our primary means something. Obama spoke here in Charlotte last Wed. and Bill Clinton was in town on Friday.

be here this week. Obama will be in Greensboro on thursday I think. Hillary has announced that she will be in the state on thursday. She just hasn't said where yet.

3. PA has always been a good state for Hillary
Just like California and OHIO and TEXAS he will close the margin in the last weeks and stop her from getting a big win that would net her a of Delegates. He was Way behind in CA just two weeks before and after Wisconsin he was 16 down in OHIO and 13 or so in Texas and brought those down. Same deal its 16% or so (average poll) right now. Theres no way she will win by that much. and it wont matter it will be a net of 15 or so for her and thats it (less if she wins by less than ten) and it will all be erased and he will have more by NC/Indiana.

4. High Hopes for NC
Even though I've transplanted myself to Oregon and wouldn't mind if the primary got all the way here.

My own experience in NC politics was what ultimately drove me from the state. Years back, Charlotte mayor Harvey Gantt ran against Jesse Helms. The Right struggled throughout the campaign--they had no dirt on the guy, who had enjoyed a stellar career. They pulled out all the stops on election night. Polling machines breaking down (only in NC's heaviest African-American counties), people were being turned away from the polls. While our lawyer pals were getting judges to keep polling places open, we were contacting would-be voters, driving out to their homes, and driving them to their polling places. Helms' thugs, meanwhile, were parked across the street in Durham, and every time we sent a car out to pick up a voter, they would also send a car out to chase us. They drove erratically, screaming obscenities and even racial epithets, and when we arrived at voters' homes they jumped out and started screaming at the voters that we were lying, the polling places were closing, etc. etc. I had never been so agitated or disgusted in my entire life. Makes me sick thinking about it, all these years later.

My dad is still involved in NC politics in western NC, and he has the same kinds of stories.

6. Edwards is going to endorse Hillary
That has to be it. I can't figure out why they would want to focus on NC otherwise.
