Dean is making valuable contributions to the Kerry campaign.
As he says, the national media is not covering these efforts....nor is the national media covering Kerry very well. Local media has done a much better job. I am made fun of and ridiculed a lot about my continued support for the DFA org. I will vote for Kerry and have contributed to him.
Read this and tell me how Dean is hurting the party. He is a good fundraiser. He will be doing this until November, then continuing with the DFA organization. I do not think he would be a good VP, I think he is better being a conscience for the party.

SNIP.." At a house party in Concord last night, Howard Dean gathered many of his most passionate supporters, the true believers who had helped launch him -briefly - to frontrunner status in the Democratic presidential primary.

They wore their "Deaniac" buttons, gave the former Vermont governor a hearty standing ovation and leaned in to listen - as their favorite candidate told them why they should support his former rival, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry...."

SNIP..."Gary Hirshberg said switching his allegiance to Kerry once he became the obvious Democratic candidate was a "no-brainer." But he knew that some Dean supporters were left adrift when their candidate dropped out of the race. The Hirshbergs held last night's house party not only to raise money for the Kerry campaign - they raised about $60,000 - but also to help bring Deaniacs into the Kerry camp.

SNIP.."Kerry's brother, Cameron Kerry, also spoke, crediting Dean supporters with helping to rally the Democratic Party.

"King George is coming, the alarm is sounding, and it's time for an army of patriots to go out there and fight," he said. "Howard was our Paul Revere, sounding the alarm."END SNIP..

1. Dean's been doing nothing but positively speaking for Kerry
Each time I've seen him on tv he's standing there with a Kerry button on and no matter how hard reporters push him, Dean keeps on saying that a vote for Nader is like a vote for Bush.

2. Dean is not the one hurting the party right now.
There are many Dean supporters who are pushing ahead along with Dean to defeat Bush.

Some of his less mature, egotistical supporters who take every opportunity to lash out at Kerry are a different story.

3. Who said..
Dean is hurting the Party? If they did, it's too stupid to comment on.

Fighting between a few Dean and Kerry supporters on DU has nothing to do with Dean and the Party.

5. Howard is The Man!
And aside from a few who can't seem to get over his loss, his supporters are doing a great job

9. Also Kerry and Dean to appear in Portland next week.
Dean had huge support there, so this is good.

SNIP..."However, details of where and when Kerry will appear before Democrats are still being worked out, Eastman said. Kerry is expected to appear in Portland for a 6 p.m. rally on May 17 with former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean. The location has yet to be determined.

“We have to figure out a big enough venue,” she said."

10. Excellent
Dean killed in Portland when he was running. It's a good move for Kerry to have him there.
