Frenzy
I think some people in DU do most of their political reading here, not in newspapers, magazines, and on websites. Thus, imagine the poor Obama supporters who do that. They read thread after thread here about how awful Clinton is. Will she destroy the Democratic Party? Is she racist? Is she a liar? And they also read the well-founded stories, such as her support for cluster bombs, for the IWR, and her stupid comment about McCain. Imagine how it must affect their biases? It's like borderline syndrome: Clinton bad, Obama good. There's no in-between. Clinton must be a terror to them. That's too bad; but at the same time those people feel a certain urgency to propel the Obama campaign to victory, and that's good.

2. Are you nuts? Do you REALLY think there's someone in the U.S. who didn't know anything about her?
Get real. She was the presumed winner from the day she announced her candidacy. That is because anyone who has watched any national news in the last 20 years KNOWS WHO SHE IS.

People are not getting their information about the Clintons from the media or this forum. Most voters already had an opinion about them.

3. I'm not defending her, just pointing out ...
... the the image of Clinton at DU is almost cartoonish, which does not reflect her image elsewhere.

4. Yes, I think I got your meaning. Likewise, I'm not insulting her. Really.
I'm just sayin'....the Clintons are so well known that it is really not accurate to say that anyone who follows politics got their impression of them in the last few months from the media or any forum. They were very well known nationally...cartoonish or not cartoonish.

Her numbers have stayed basically the same for the last couple of years...except that her unfavorability rating has gotten a bit better, actually. That's because - as she herself says - she has been thoroughly vetted in years past, and there's nothing that anyone can go after them for that hasn't been done before. We all know the ins and outs of the Clintons by now.
