Clinton Fares Poorly In Informal Poll - Berkeley CA

**presenting the results of an informal poll of middle-aged presumed Democrats in Berkeley, California:

we went out last night to a jazz club in Berkeley (Anna's Jazz Island) to hear a local 60s and 70s-era favorite do his "Great American Songbook" show :-)

after introducing the band members, this gent likes to introduce himself as some iconic topical figure. past figures have included "Bill Clinton", "George W. Bush", and "Britney Spears". always met with laughter from the audience, either good-natured or rueful, but laughter nonetheless.

last night's alias was...

"Hillary Clinton"

no one laughed.

all that could be heard were soft groans and sharp intakes of breath.

not ONE person in a crowded jazz club in Berkeley, California applauded, laughed, or said "YAY!".

not even the pie-eyed forty-ish gal behind us at the bar, who had been quite vocal all night.

not. one. person.

i just thought that out of a crowded room in Berkeley where most of the women were 50+, there would be ONE, just ONE, Clinton supporter.

(as for the rest of the gent's riff on Senator Clinton, well, you had to be there... :evilgrin:)

a really fun place too! SF went for Clinton but I believe that Berkeley went for Obama during the primary.

13. I agree with Lakoff on that one. And with Mike Moore, too.

Arnold was only elected after a two year effort by Bush/Cheney to steal California -- and, they very nearly did it. Without Debra Bowen, we'd likely go red this year. They nearly pulled it off.

And to digress, right now they're an inch away from stealing New York. They targeted Spitzer and now they're going after Paterson. Next in line is a Republican. If we can time out on bashing our candidates, NY could use a hand because the Democrats there are hanging by a thread.

eta: A Republican wouldn't have to win a statewide race if one can just step into the State House because Paterson is smeared out of office. :shrug:

I really like Paterson, above and beyond just wanting to keep NY.

We really should be keeping track of this because, again, they are trying to do this right under the rader. The snakes.

NOTHING they do would surprise me. It doesn't seem to matter to them whether their motives are known or not.

I wouldn't have thought they would be crazy enough to continue to promote our presence in Iraq as a war on Al Q and Terror AFTER the reports have become public exposing the lies.
