This is the kind of thing going on here on TV all the time. I have often said I will stop posting things about how the Florida party is acting if they will stop acting that way.

I posted how Steve Geller recently threatened Dean with "mutually assured destruction." Not sure who he is endorsing, but at this point it is just very harmful rhetoric.

The Florida Democratic leaders are purposely, it appears, building up anger against Howard Dean to force his hand and get their way. It is especially gauling to the superdelegates who right now do not have a vote.

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Democratic Congresswoman Corrine Brown places the blame for the delegate flap squarely on DNC Chairman Howard Dean.

"I think Howard Dean should fix the problem or resign," Brown exclaims during an interview at First Coast News studios.

Brown insists that Florida's delegates be seated at the convention according to the results of the January primary.

"And after what happened in 2000 in Florida, elections is a raw nerve for people in Florida. And you should not mess with us! And you should not mistreat us in Florida," she says.

Almost every newscast here has words that tsk tsk when Dean's name has been mentioned. I have never once seen the true story told on news here...that Florida voted for it 115 to 1 and made no effort to stand up to the GOP on the issue. If they had their delegates would have counted.

There is an article in US News calling Florida politicians out on their actions, pointing out how they are constantly on TV hammering away at the DNC.

Florida and Michigan Have No Case for a Revote

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.—Florida may deserve the title of the nation's banana republic. Florida's problems with elections dating back to the chaotic presidential race in 2000 are well known. To the north, Michigan is making a name for itself in Democratic turmoil.

It is beyond time for Florida's Democratic officials to stop moaning about their loss of delegates to the party's convention in Denver. They knew exactly what they were doing when they violated party rules and pushed their primary ahead of the national party schedule.

The St. Petersburg Times conducted a survey of Sunshine State Democrats in which a strong majority expressed anger at the national party for dismissing the primary results here. That anger is directed at the wrong target. The state officials deserve the blame.

Florida Chair Karen Thurman and senior Sen. Bill Nelson are appearing regularly on newscasts to complain about the "injustice" done to voters. That may cheer the party faithful, but they have no legitimate case.

Thanks goodness for a sensible voice, even though most Floridians won't get to read it.

However they do hear Corrine Brown, Bill Nelson, Karen Thurman, Steve Geller, and others like them. They never hear anything but their side of the story.

One more thing from the US News article. The writer said "what are Govs. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania and Jon Corzine of New Jersey, both Clinton backers, doing by raising money for revotes? They should keep their politics at home without creating mischief elsewhere."

I have not seen much about Jon's appeal to the DNC itself. I do know it would give the superdelegates back their vote.

The rules committee is not hearing Florida's input in April. I assume that means it goes to the credentials committee in July.

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta has dismissed a federal lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee over the party's decision to strip Florida of its delegates to the national convention. But it left the door open for possible further legal action.

Florida voter Victor DiMaio filed the suit in 2007 -- before the actual vote in January, 2008. He claimed that the DNC's decision to strip Florida of its delegates -- because it has moved its primary to an earlier date -- violated the 14th amendment's equal protection clause.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that "the 11th Circuit said DiMaio's case 'raises a number of interesting and potentially significant questions concerning the impact of the Equal Protection Clause on an individual's right to vote in a primary election,' but ultimately the three-judge panel agreed with a federal district judge in Tampa who ruled last fall that DiMaio lacked standing to bring the suit."

But the court left the door open for DiMaio to amend his suit and carry on his challenge to the DNC decision.

It has to do with when he files his original suit. At that time, he had not yet voted in the Florida primary, and so the court ruled he did not have standing. But now that DiMaio has voted, he could try again.
