There is a music group called the Doors. They have a message board. I noticed that one by one, all the pro dems were either leaving or being banned.
I was assured that it was all on the up and up.
I just blasted the Republicans with all the guns I had and sure enough, I got myself banned. I did it on purpose to see if they would ban me......they never had before and now, of course, after the trash talk that ensued.....paranoid versus gaslight.....Jim Morrison's own website that his estate has paid for is being over run by a bunch of ChickenHawk, NeoCons.....oh where are you Ms. Scarlett when I need you.
Lady from Illinois.....Morrison would be turning over in his grave. Now I know why a lot of people don't post or won't post; they get banned if they come out against the Republican regime. No, I am not paranoid....I know gaslight though when I see it.

...god, but that made me feel old. I agree, a forum there would seem to be the last place with a Freeper=like domination. Sort of like a Greatful Dead site run by D.A.R.E. (which, you know, stands for Drugs Are Really Expensive)

| 7. We talking the "reunion" Doors, or the REAL Doors? |
|
If it's the "reunion", just stay the hell away. The Robbie Krieger/Ray Manzarek Experience is a sad, pale immitation of the REAL group that also featured Jim Morrisson and John Densmore.
Sorry, but Ian "I wanted to be Johnny Rotten before I wanted to be Robert Plant" Astbury is a piss-poor imitation of Morrisson and should be run out of town on a rail. It's bad enough Astbury turned The Cult into a poor man's AC/DC in the 80s, but then he had to stain the former great name of the Doors, too? Aren't the royalty checks from the back catalog aren't enough for Ray, so he has to dig up a 30-year-old corpse?
How pathetic. The fact that the new "Doors" are only playing half-filled theatres instead of arenas is evidence enough of this fraud. It's as bad as the "Creedence" reunion that only features the bass player and drummer, neither of whom wrote or sang ANY of their songs. Truly truly sad.

And I agree 100%...Morrison WAS the Doors, in my own humble opinion.

| 9. I saw The Doors in concert twice |
|
Yep, there sure was a group called The Doors. And Jim Morrison, whose father was an admiral stationed in San Diego, hated the military. Rememeber the song "Unknown Soldier", off the Strange Days album?

| 14. I completely disagree ... |
|
each of them was extremely important in the creation of their sounds and each added something unique to the mix. True, Jim wrote most of the songs but not all by any means and in fact, Robbie wrote some of best songs. Robbie's guitar work is impecable; low-key but technically quite advanced. Ray's keyboard work in the pre-moog days was creative and Densmore's work with the odd synchopations demanded by the songs was also steller.
Jim was important but so were the others. It would never have sounded as good if any one of them were to be excluded.

| 15. Well......divided yer gonna fall and Bush will get re-elected. |
|
people used to be able to stand together for a common cause.....no matter where you go; no matter what political forum, only the most cohesive win; and I see a loss in the making, right here at DU, much to my chagrin. I placed laurels at the feet where they aren't deserved and only the deceased seem to have convictions anymore, anyway......have Mr. Bush served up on a silver platter...its a prison of your own devise.
Oh Yeah, Land O Lincoln; this aint the Garden of Eden, and this ain't the Summer of Love.
I couldnt believe it the first time; second time, I will believe it cause I see how the machinations of division work so well with a scattered group of so called "democrats" who can't even see the forest from the trees and have their own agenda which supercedes anything bigger than themselves. It is sad.
