9. It's interesting strategy, but the wrong one...

It would appeal to minority voters but alienate a lot of whites who are probably already on the fence. I hate to throw the race card, but as we've seen, there are many out there who are willing to do as such. I think a red state moderate would be a great pick as a VP, but I'm not sure if Richardson is the right choice...

Richardson has experience, so he can run things while Obama looks pretty and waffles. Plus, Richardson has a quiet, humble charm that will make people like him but not overshadow Obama--a key trait for a VP.

His weakness is that he doesn't bring much regionally. New Mexico has few delegates. Then again, it's been important in the last two elections, so it's not a state to overlook, as close as electoral counts have been lately.

Plus, I just like Richardson. I was planning to vote for him before he dropped out, even though I didn't think he had a chance.
