Ha, ha!! This is too funny! The hackish TalkLeft site didn't seem to think Obama's passport file being breached was anything to get hysterical about:

http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/3/20/20559/3085

Larry Johnson is on and I think correctly states the only thing in the file that isn't public knowledge is his social security number.

My view: It's a violation of law, but nothing that could jeopardize his safety. Any employee who works for a credit agency could peek at the social security number. It's a passport file, not a file with reports on Obama.

David Gergen basically also says the information in the file is no big deal.

Anything to distract from Michigan and Florida and disenfranchising over 2 million Democrats. Who alerted the media to this? The Obama campaign?

So, my friend, Jeralyn: now that we know Hillary's passport has been breached, I am ASSUMING you will stick with your original story that this is no big deal, and perhaps was cooked up by the Obama campaign to distract us from MI and OH. Those Obama folks are devious, REALLY throwing us off the trail with the Hillary/McCain angle.

:sarcasm:

2. Maybe they'll say the same thing they did before.
Ever consider that?

4. Hillary Spokesperson Describes Obama Campaign As "Amateur Hour"
Yes, let's see what they say now, after they said this:

Hillary Spokesperson Describes Obama Campaign As "Amateur Hour"
By Greg Sargent - March 21, 2008, 11:19AM

This is interesting: On a conference call with reporters just now, Hillary spokesperson Phil Singer characterized the Obama campaign as "amateur hour."

Singer claimed that a discussion this morning on MSNBC suggested that the Obama campaign was trying to tie Camp Hillary to the breach of Obama's passport files.

"We will not tolerate being tied to this," Singer said, going on to describe the assertion as "reckless and frankly desperate." He added that it was a sign that the Obama campaign was "nervous" about their "political situation," concluding that it's "amateur hour over there."

One imagines that the Obama campaign will respond by pointing to the current popular vote and pledged delegate totals that Obama has amassed.

That aside, it seems like a valid question to ask whether the Obama campaign is really accusing the Hillary camp of being behind the passport files caper. We're going back to check the original MSNBC report and we'll keep you posted.

5. social security number vital
To do background searches. Seriously, that is what they wanted, I am sure, to dig up whatever from other sources.

6. I don't know why you're attacking Talk Left. It's a decent site and it doesn't allow overt bashing
of either candidate. It's fairly heavily moderated. Oh I know, Jeralyn and BTD don't fawn over Obama enough for your taste. Because you're either against ObamaNation, or you're against it.
