Kerry beats Bush by one point in head to head matchup (Gallup)

Oh well, there's a new Gallup poll for what it's worth and I'd say that this actually seems more accurate than any BS poll showing Bush beating Kerry by 4. Kerry is ahead 49-48 among likely voters, but when Nader is included, it's tied 47-47, with Nader getting 3.

There are some encouraging numbers though:

His approval numbers are according to Gallup, are at their lowest.

I'd be surprised if Nader actually gets three percent, but this is much more realistic than Nader at 6%. My guess has been for a while now that atleast a third of those that say they will vote for Nader, will switch to Kerry. Kerry will probably win the popular vote by two points.

The real key of course is the state by state polls, where there are also some good signs, like the recent ties in AZ (well not a tie but a very close race) and Ar (which actually was a tie).

"The poll shows that 49% of Americans approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president, while 48% disapprove."

"The poll finds 36% of Americans satisfied with the way things are going in the United States, while 62% are dissatisfied. "

"Overall, 41% of Americans approve and 56% disapprove of the way Bush is handling the economy -- the worst reading Gallup has measured in this Bush administration. "

"At 42%, Bush's job approval on foreign affairs is another record low for the president -- four points lower than measures in late January and mid-February of this year"

"Bush's rating on his handling of the situation in Iraq -- now at 42%"

"Barely a majority of Americans, 52%, approve of the way he is dealing with the terrorist threat, while 45% disapprove"
