Why are they so enraged?
Wonder why the media talking heads so infuriated at Barack Obama?

Why are Joe Scarborough/Pat Buchanan/Tucker Carlson/FOX news et al
So enflamed with the issue of Obamb and Pastor Jeremiah Wright?

Because Obama called them out in his speech:

"For we have a choice in this country. We can accept a politics that breeds division, and conflict,
and cynicism. We can tackle race only as spectacle- as we did in the OJ Trial- or in the wake of tragedy, as we did in the aftermath of Katrina- or as fodder for the nightly news. We can play
Rev. Jeremiah Wright's sermons on eveery channel, every day and talk about them from now until the election, and make the only question in this campaign whether or not the Americna people think that I somehow believe or sympathize with his most offensive words. We can pounce on some gaffe by a Hillary support as evidence that she's playing the race card, or we can speculate on whether white men will all flock to John McCain in the general election regardless of his policies. We can do that. But if we do.... nothing will change."

It seems as if he was right on; and the talking heads keep on blathering over what they can't change.

Pity.

Sadly, those 'blue collar guys,' those working men in the hard core areas like Ohio and Pennsylvania, those men that Scarborough/Buchanan/CArlson think will sway this election, those guys who want a president they can relate to... were the same guys in 2000 who wanted a president they could have a beer with... How did that work for us then? How's that now?

1. "The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color"
Sorry, but that's what "blue collar guys" see in the Rev. Wright; the hate and the nuttiness. Obama is, rightly or not, irrevocably tied to him in the minds of many.

2. You've heard of the Tuskegee Study?
So maybe you can cut Wright a little fucking slack for being paranoid about AIDS.

3. And there's really no doubt that when AIDS seemed to be just a "Gay plague" and Haitian disease...
And there's really no doubt that when GRID (later renamed
AIDS) seemed to be just a "Gay plague" and maybe a Haitian
disease that Reagan was prepared to completely ignore it.

4. That's a pretty low blow there, and not even remotely related
Purposefully infecting blacks with syphilis was horrid, but there were similar medical practices performed in that era, such as the sterilization of the mentally disabled or the forced institutionalization of homosexuals.

That is a far cry from believing that the US government engineered one of the worst and most destructive retroviruses in human history, don't you think?
