Obama and McCain are tied for Colorado's electoral votes 46-46; meanwhile Hillary loses by 14-points 52-38 according to new poll out today

Also in New Hampshire, McCain leads Obama by 3 46-43 while Hillary loses the state she won in the primary 47-41.

1. That just goes to show that everything is still in flux.

Obama supporters cherry pick polls that show him leading, whereas Clinton supporters cherry pick polls that show her leading. You see a lot of that as DU. That's just the way it is in politics I guess.

2. there's some truth to this

I pointedly posted this poll to counter that Ohio poll that a Hillary supporter posted which supposedly has Obama "losing badly" in Ohio by 8-points while Hillary is tied with McCain. The truth is that I think Hill would probably run better in some states than Obama while Obama will run better in some states than Hill. Both will win the blueest states, but I think that Obama has a better chance of winning some purple or red states like Iowa, Virginia and Colorado.

3. Yes. Obama consistently does better in CO--but he consistently does worse in PA, FL, OH, and NJ

Let's sit down and do the electoral math. Colorado is worth 9 electoral votes. Virginia is another state he does better in. 13 electoral votes. Add Iowa to the mix. 7 electoral votes. Ok. FL=27 electoral votes, PA=21, OH=20, NJ=15. Obama's problem is he loses all the big purple states and even a big blue state in the case of of NJ. Colorado and Iowa won't cut it. Obama supporters need to realize not all states have the same population.

Thanks for posting. We have to remember the president is chosen at the state level and we need to look at state polls and crunch the numbers.

The other thing to remember is Obama's negatives still have a long way to go up. Many of his state leads over Clinton will evaporate, just as his national lead over Clinton against McCain, which once said at 9.4, no longer exists (Clinton actually does better against McCain now).
