David Gregory's new show- your thoughts?
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 05:09 PM by FLDem5
the format is still awkward, but that may work itself out on its own.

don't have people on (Joe Scarborough) who are used to having their own show - they are arrogant and used to controlling the conversation, and don't make good guests.

too, too much white background.

split screen with pundit waiting to speak is uncomfortable.

Gregory is very well informed.

I adore the "email me and play along" feature. Custom made for DU - please use it!

BTW - Eugene Robinson just slapped Holy Joe around a little.

9. I like having Rachel on the radio
It's live during the day here. If she moved to TV, I wouldn't get to hear her live.

and if I were that woman on his show, I would have slapped the shit out of him by now.

5. joe = yahoo.....
not yahoo on the web...

yahoo as in YAY-HOO...

the truth of the MSM is that guys like Joe have shows and air time...

take your low common denominator, divide by 7 or so....

and you have the guys like Joe...

7. Gregory is informed, but he's not the guy to host this type of show........
he needs a show that is more like Keith's. He's not good at moderating a conversation with so many people.

10. To soon to tell for me. I have it on now. They are giving him the heavyweights for a panel and yes
he does know his shit.

He just has no personality. It may be a bit cerebral for the average cable news viewer. (Although Scarborough helps lower the average IQ in the room)

I hope David loosens up some and tries to be more entertaining, this isn't the White House Press Room.

16. The difference is, Gregory is a REPORTER, not a "commentator" and not a "pundit."
I haven't watched the show, though. I'm finding MS-GOP to be a bit hubris-laden and asinine of late. It's tiresome.

Print seems to get the points across more succinctly, without all of the personality and bullshit...

20. He's Not Giving His Guest The Time To Finish Their Comments.....
he keeps cutting them off. He needs to STFU and listen to his guests. And Joe Scarborough shouldn't be on any show - he's too arrogant and opinionated. It seems like he talks just to talk. He is always contrary to popular opinion. He likes to hear himself talk. He always stirs the pot.

not impressed with this latest incarnation of punditry. At least Buchanan is not on there today.

Joe sucks tonight, but so far I like the format. I like even more the fact that it's a show devoted entirely to the campaign.
