from the start. I still have hope we will have a good candidate but the foul stench of this bickering has made my heart stone cold against Obama. i will not even consider him as a nominee and if i have to vote for him in the GE it will be with contempt in my heart. it could have all been different and i would not really cared which one was in, but now I am dead set against Hillary quitting until the bloody end. Even if it destroys the party as some here want us to believe.

If those numbers hold up victory in improbable...

Respectfully, you live in the most liberal area of the nation and that informs your view...

Visit Orlando, Scranton, Columbus, Paramus, Staten Island, Grand Rapids, etcetera and see if folks share your views...

We are parochial creatures... We seek out folks who think like us, have them holler our own opinions back at us, and consequently think everybody thinks like us...

There are a lot of reasons why he's polling behind McCain right now. The obvious is McCain is the declared Thug candidate where Obama is still only a contender.

I personally think either candidate could wipe the floor with McCain if we do adequate election protection. But, I'm just an English teacher.

You're right about seeking out people who agree. They're much nicer, smarter and they smell good.

FWIW, the word "half" generally implies equal amounts, not consistently unequal amounts.

As a matter of fact, i've just added a couple. I'm up to 36 now, 9 of whom have been TS'd. I have never seen "spinning" to this degree before. They are trying to spin this as bad for Obama? I've scoured DU, and the web, and looks like he hit a homerun. Expect the polls to reflect that in a couple of days.

Major speech on Iraq tomorrow as well. Obama's got campaign advisers who know what's really going on over there, and I hope he paints a realistic picture for the American people, without McCain's spin.

24. not turning off ignore yet...
I've been a DU member since 2004 (but very rarely post), and never thought to use the ignore list until recently. I don't mind the tears and screams from certain people, but what drives me bonkers is the illogic (2+2=5) and out-right racism. Today's speech by Obama seemed to bring the last few racists out of hiding, and I've added more people to ignore today than I have before. :(

37. The nomination was all over but the shouting after Wisconsin
That's when I turned off my ignores. There is still a lot of screeching and thrashing about from the 20% or so that are holding out hope for a Senator Clinton miracle comeback. It is not happening in the actual world of Democratic politics.

Senator Obama is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party and will be the clear winner of the majority of delegate votes on the first ballot in Denver. That's how these things work when you win the majority of delegates. It will be Senator Obama running against John McCain in the GE. He deserves our whole hearted support.

All the viciousness directed against Senator Obama on the board is directed against the Democratic standard bearer and can only be to the benefit of the GOP at this point. I am just sorry to see this continuing and petty demonization of such a fine, if imperfect, man and excellent progressive candidate by a small cadre on what should be a vanguard board for progressive, not DLC, Democrats.

72. The Clinton campaign is a little hard to watch
In Plainfield Indiana last weekend, Obama announced an event in a high school gym. Sold out 5000 seats in 30 minutes.

Bill Clinton is making the rounds in Indiana and he's drawing groups of 50 people at the local firehouse.

The Clinton campaign explains this as a good thing. It seems that Hillary's campaign is intentionally having micro-events because she really wants to meet with people individually.

Come on, lady. Give it up. You are making you and your old man look pathetic.

Everyone posts this kind of crap about Obama winning....It's over....Hillary winning...It's over, etc. Won't we all be surprised when we get President McCain? The poll numbers have all three of them in a dead heat at this point. Everyone acts like when Obama gets the nomination, we have won. What have we won? The battle will just be beginning. We should quit using our energy for stupid posts beating up our fellow Democrats. This is more than a fight between Obama and Clinton.
