"President Obama" sounds awesome. But "Madam President" has a pretty nice ring to it too.

My point is, either way, we're going to make history this year. I know tension is high, and we are all very passionate about our candidates, but let's step back for a minute and think about the fact that either way, we will make history, with the first woman or the first African American to be on the top of a major party ticket. And if we stop fighting once we have a nominee and rally together, we have a chance to shatter at least one historical barrier. The advancement of women and African Americans is something our party believes in, and regardless of who we support, we ought to all be excited about the fact that we have a chance to make history in August and in November. Let's not get so caught up in our candidate preferences that we blow that chance!

Do we really want to sacrifice the chance to make history and put another cranky old white male who wants to keep us in Iraq for 100 years in the White House just because we couldn't agree?

4. Oops, I always do that!
Fixed the title...we all know what happens when people think our candidate is French.

13. Hey, why not? Haven't we all had more than enough of the opposite?
Either of these is a winner for me.

7. Me too
It kills me to see us throwing away this chance by fighting so much.

It saddens me that many Clinton supporters here refuse to help defend Obama against this right wing smear about his pastor, and I am under no illusions that Obama supporters would be any better if Clinton were under attack from the right. It's a shame, because if we want to avoid a repeat of 2004 we should all be standing up to swiftboating against either candidate now.

11. Madam Speaker sounded great too!
I was oh-so-proud of Pelosi... what a historic first!

Then she let me down over & over.

The excitement didn't last long.

So excuse me if I don't jump on the rah-rah we're going to make history either way bandwagon. I'm tired.

I'm content knowing a woman had a real chance at the WH.
