Whether there is anything on her tax returns is in some ways less important than the principle of Open and Transparent Government. Hillary's refusal to support these principles is very troubling to me -- but both she and her husband have always liked keeping secrets.

This is one of the largest reasons I support Obama. He's not perfect here, but he is a heck of a lot better than anyone else, and is deeply interested in improving the openness of government. Hillary isn't.

Their current position - that they will release their returns around April 15 - is also bizarre. Did they file an extension for the past few years? If they didn't, the forms are available now. Throwing strange arbitrary future deadlines around is unacceptable flim flam.

It may be three years. So, releasing those past years may be premature.

In any event, I believe Hillary's Senate Financials cover more information than the federal tax return. I saw a link here on DU to Hillary's senate financials that listed income from speeches, including her husbands, and other income.

In addition, as a political candidate, her campaign finance reports are all public record.

Stick to trashing her IWR vote. That's still pretty hot stuff. But take care, since she joined so many Democrats in that voting it could very well damage the party's congressional chances in November.
