Alright, I've posted my thread about my optimist side, but there is also a doom and gloom aspect of all this too. To read my first thread go here...

The Pessimist side of me tells me the MSM will not let this story die. Even though knowing it benefits the Republicans and it's exactly what FAUX News wants, let's be real...when has the MSM ever sided with a Democrat? We live in a corporate-controlled society, and they prefer the Republicans to the Democrats. But Obama isn't just any other Democrat running for President. He's the first viable Black candidate, he has over 1 million donors, and he has crossover appeal. Barack Obama is a recipe for disaster for the Rethug's if he gets a fair shot. So out comes THE SWIFTBOATS under the guise of Jeremiah fucking Wright!!

Make no mistake, I'm a big liberal and find nothing wrong with a lot of what Wright said. So crucify me. But I'm also a realist in knowing the nature of politics and how these videos have scared the establishment shitless. I don't even know if it's solely about race...I mean who really believes Obama is a racist (outside of Clinton trolls)? These videos serve more of a purpose than meets the eye for them. This is the trojan horse they've been waiting for to knock over Obama who they haven't found anything on as of yet. Trust me, if the establishment had its way...Obama would have never gone this far in the first place. Remember, Hillary Clinton was SUPPOSED to be the nominee anyway, Obama wasn't supposed to be this big of a turn on.

I hate to delve into race, but it has become an issue in this campaign...and a BIG fucking issue at that! Everything from the media breaking down supporters based on White Male/Female, Black Male/Female. The Geraldine Ferroro story broke at the beginning of what would be a week full of Race Rage, and to top it all off...Jeremiah Wright. I have jokingly began to refer to it as The Wright Tapes. I mean, you would think Obama was caught on tape saying Whites are the Devil or something. That's the reactionary way people are acting towards it. And what have we seen through this nation's history (at least post-Civil Rights)? Whenever race becomes a HUGE factor...it always turns nasty.

1. Rodney King riots
2. Jena 6 (even though these were civil protests and not violent acts)
3. Duke Lacrosse

And the above list is just off the top of my head. I think the reaction within the Black community to Obama being swiftboated and kept from the nomination out of what is bound to be seen as racial reasons would be triple anything we saw from the above list. And that's a FACT! The DU poster Eeyore hit the nail on the head in his thread...

The MSM has actually been very good at trying to avoid festering racial issues in the past, which is why I said in my optimist thread that this story wouldn't last much longer until maybe the General Election. But something fishy is happening, and with the knowledge that the Clinton campaign is now seeking the exploit this and jump all over it...there are obviously forces involved that don't want this story to die. They want to destroy Obama with it! And one thing I can tell you about Black people is that when they feel their backs are up against the wall, that's when they become very aggitated and militant in their rhetoric. Obama being beaten fair and square on the issues is one thing, Obama being destroyed through guilt by association and his Pastor who Obama sounds nothing like...is something totally different. And with the fact that it started on a week filled with racial coverage, there is only one way the Black community will view it. Denver could be VERY ugly this year!

Initially, I thought if this became an issue following Ferroro...it would simply be payback for the Clinton campaign being feathered as racist, then it would go away. Now, I'm beginning to wonder if there's more going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Is it a coincidence that the Obama/Wright story dropped as SOON as the Ferroro story peaked? Is it a coincidence that Clinton has been staying in for SOME reason, even though it's damn near a mathematical impossiblity that she overtakes him? Who knows, but the pessimist inside me tells me (as Chris Matthews has said) the San Andreas fault of American society...race, is about to explode! And you know what, it only helps the Republicans in 2008!

nomination we will lose the blacks and the youth vote...the excitement will be gone...I know it will with me...I will vote for hillary if she gets the nomination but without any enthusiasm..

7. It's funny, I actually think we can fend it off better in the General Election

now that it has already come out and by then we'll have the Party and our own 527s behind us. It'll be more than just the Obama campaign fighting back. Right now, the 527s and Party elite can't really do much without looking as if they're taking sides.

4. The only part of this I agree with is that there is NO coincidence that the

Wright story dropped with the Ferraro story, none at all. Did you notice how the video clips/posts from the "Hill regulars" here started at the same time, too? It was a coordinated and planned effort.

It will backfire, simply because to continue to push it is going to bring back the same kind of national divide we had in the 1960s. Its that simple. And that frightening.
