| After paying our dues for 7 miserable years, we had earned the right to enjoy |
|
some sunshine and were all too eager to take the leaden anchors off our hearts and let them fly. People registering to vote in droves, crowds of enthusiastic people filling each stadium and school gym to overflowing, issues being discussed like never before.
Now all this.
The 'kitchen sink' has gotten clogged and it's really starting to stink. If we need to call in Roto-Rooter, I think Hillary should foot the bill.

to the type of remarks made by Bill Clinton on the stump and Geraldine Ferraro, repeatedly and without regret.

By your logic, Obama is responsible for Wright
I want to win in the general, but if we're going to win, we will need to think clearly.
Just because Obama hasn't won this thing yet doesn't mean that we should throw logic out the window.

She is using, if you want to keep the spotlight off yourself, and on Obama. It's pretty simple when you stop to look at it. She has so much in the way of baggage, and if the press was hitting her on those issues, she would be spending all of her time defending herself against "her" problems with questionable people. By keeping the spotlight on Obama, she avoids defending herself. When the public wants to see discussion on the "issues" we get "fear and smear"!
The media loves it, because they can jack up their ratings with this stuff, and in the winner is McCain. He is sitting back taking it all in, and will use all of this against the dem nominee come the GE. Right now he is making millions, getting away with things like the lobbyist scandal, and flip flopping all over the place trying to redefine himself as a "real" conservative.
While this all good for Hillary, it's the worst thing for the party as a whole. It is making it harder and harder for the dems to come together, and sadly easier for McCain to win in November. Does Hillary care? That's the question we all need to ask, because it looks to me like her plan is that if she can't win, then nobody will, and that's just plain wrong!

This ought to be happy times. Unfortunately, the media has engineered a divisive horse race pitting a black man against a white woman and the question becomes "who is more discriminated against: blacks or women?" The question pits people against each other and dredges up old bigotry and misogynism.
Instead of light hearts, we face the ugliest general election in recent years with an uncertain outcome!
I fault the press who have played right into GOP hands. Their drive to shape this election and thus interfere with the democratic process is outrageous.

| 9. The press has performed atrociously in the past 5 years, and during this entire election proces. |

Kucinich was ignored and ridiculed. Edwards couldn't get headlines or air time, even when he came in ahead of Hillary Clinton! Public opinion was being shaped every day by the press and which issues they decided should be highlighted or hindered, to a degree never before seen in this country, imo.
I believe that, in the future, students of journalism will look back at the past 7 years as a blighted time when journalism (with the exception of a few) forgot its obligations and took a long nap, then woke up with a start and just went haywire.
