How serious is the news about Senator Obama and Rev Jeremiah Wright, Jr?

not a big deal 14% (4042 votes)
very important - could be fatal to his presidential race 85% (23810 votes)
not sure 1% (317 votes)

http://gretawire.foxnews.com /

You have to scroll down to see the poll- about 30,000 responded. It's a Fox poll so not real representative of the public at large, but the margin is so huge as to be troubling for the Obama campaign. Especially since Republicans voted 70% for him early in the campaign. At any rate, it's the first poll I've seen on this topic.

Thanks for being honest about that.

5. Fox News

There's no real discussion on that show. When I turned it on last night, some fat pig was rolling his eyes and blurting out insanities - who the hell does that? His name was Neil - is that the boortz guy that is making fun of disabled children? I have a disabled child, and find that so repulsive, there's a nice place in hell for shits like that.

On topic: If FoxNews collectively or individually claimed that Abraham Lincoln was still dead, I'd demand an exhumation.

7. 85% of Fox viewers that that *'s SOTU speech was excellent

Fox News viewers vote via texting

Cory Bergman January 24th, 2007

Last night, Fox News asked viewers to use their cell phones to vote whether President Bush did an excellent, average or poor job with the State of the Union speech. Fox received 90,000 text messages with, ahem, 85 percent voting excellent. TVNewser reports that similar text voting may become a regular feature on Hannity & Colmes.

And there is no group of people on earth more enamored of wishful thinking than Fox News viewers, you need only look at the continued rose-colored view of Bush and Iraq for evidence of that.

What the hell are you doing looking at Fox News online polls, anyway?

percentage in 2004? I remember reading that somewhere.

I actually tried to watch Faux some last night to see Obama. It was a good demonstration of why I stopped ever watching Faux years and years ago.

22. Fox Schmox....but my guess is
...that on this issue they are not so wide of many other groups.
Fox is (naturally) pushing the story so its viewers will be better "informed" on this and therefore feel more strongly.
But there is enough fodder in the Wright -Obama connection to feed a national frenzy.

25. OMG, is this what Hillary supporters are down to?
Citing push polls on Faux news, just like freepers. Sad and pathetic.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, this entire Wright deal is just a blip passing by on the radar screen of the ongoing election campaign. The only reason that Wright is being pushed so hard around here is to try and cloud up the very real racism expressed by a major figure in the Clinton campaign, Ferraro, and the hit that Clinton has taken because of it.

Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 11:35 AM by Tropics_Dude83
In last night's tracking poll (just one night sample), he was down by 15 points to Clinton. That means that this pastor scandal has sent him from being up 50-42% to being down 50-35%.

That means that this pastor scandal is so huge that it moved the polls by 30 points.

Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 11:55 AM by RichardRay
They're probably similarly homogenous samples. Internet polls are pretty much 99.9999% useless. Trying to get a good sample to create a meaningful poll is hard enough when it's done carefully and carried out with rigor - a self-selected Internet poll has just about 0 actual information in it.

(edit to spell 'rigor' correctly - five letters meaning done correctly, you'd think I'd get that right, wouldn't you :-)
