Obama: 'I strongly condemn his views and I wasnt aware of them'
I'm really starting to believe Obama must have sociopathic tendencies to get on national television and deliver this line of bullshit with such a straight face and expect people to believe it.

Obviously Michelle Obama was aware and agrees and it gives insight into her statement about 'not being proud to be American'. Obama is not stupid, and one is not close to someone for 20 years and not be aware of their views, especially when they are standing on a podium every week screaming it.

Obama would not have made him his pastor for the past 20 years unless he agreed with at least some of his views. Nor would he have made him his 'spiritual adviser', placed him in the campaigns Religious Leadership Committee, have him baptize his children, and everything else Obama did to bond himself with Wright.

This is more than just guilt by association, and to those that say 'he condemned it, so its ok' are fucking delusional. The average American does not subscribe to this bullshit that the white man created aids to kill off blacks, or that we deserved 9/11, and it pisses people off to hear this shit. And yet all we've been hearing for the past months is how Bill is a racist, pathetic.

This will not go away, and if Obama stays in, which I have no doubt that he will, he will lose, whether it be to Hillary or McCain. He is damaged goods and needs to get out of the race now before the so-called uniter divides this country to the point we've never seen.

the correct response would have been. "oops, sorry, I'll go start that thread... meet me there."

btw, I agree, she should release her tax returns. they are her personal business. (MYOB) but it is upsetting a lot of people so she should go ahead and release them. I wish she would.

Now stop stealing other people's threads, and start your own.

we will have lost the election. (Obviously I don't know whether that statement is true but this stuff hands the GOP the weapon they will wield in a thousand ways. McCain in a landslide.)
And there is something WRONG here. Actually many things.
But the "wrong" part with Obama is that he is saying he did not know. I do find that a stretch.

He is a politician trying to work around a problem/glitch in his campaign. Whether he knew about the sermons or not remains to be seen. NO, most mainstream Dems do not beliive the words of Wright but just how bad this will effect Obama's campaign remains to be seen. Damaged goods? Not really. Hillary has withstood 20 years of attacks on her self, personal life, her family and everything in between and yet she comes out strong. Obama can do the same.

He's been winning, he'll keep winning. He dumped this on a Friday night, and this story will be forgotten in a few weeks, and certainly won't be a concern in the general election. Keep your eye on the real enemy and have a little faith.

If George W. Bush can get elected with an insider trading scandal while speaking at Bob Jones University, Obama can get elected with a Pastor who by all measures is a saint compared to the Christian Coalition.

65. Indeed. I've noticed the same thing.
Here's a partial description that seems apt:

The word "slippery" seems to have been invented to describe the

sociopath. Conning -- playing the confidence game -- is a way of life

for him. Often he has an ingratiating manner and considerable

superficial charm or even powers of fascination. He may seem unusually

poised and sure of himself, because he lacks the scruples or self-

consciousness that make others hesitate. He practices deceit constantly

in many forms -- outright lying, evasiveness, distortion, pretending to

forget. He answers questions vaguely and inconsistently, especially

questions about himself and his past -- partly to confuse and manipulate,

partly because he is indifferent to truth. He lies for strategic

purposes -- to boast, to flatter, to excuse himself and blame others --

but also, often, simply for the pleasure of deceiving. He lies so freely

and so often fails to cover his tracks that he is regularly exposed.

Then he may confess, offer superficial rationalizations or insincere

apologies, and go on to tell new lies, as if he is indifferent to being

recognized for what he is.

He's saying that he was never present when the comments were said, not that he was unaware of them. He clearly indicated to KO that he was aware of them in a nationally televised interview which is on the front page of DU.

But throw around words like clueless all you want while Obama supporters actually read and know what they're talking about.

42. my sentiments exactly
whatever people on this board think, most of America will not vote for someone they think is anti-American. A 20 year relationship and putting him in some kind of advisory position sure doesn't seem like a denouncement of the pastors views despite what he said last night which I don't think most will believe. How could he not have known if he was a regular church goer? And personally it worries me that despite what he said last night, he had to have soaked up some of the views of this pastor and agreed with them or he wouldn't have stayed with the church. How could this pastor condemn America the Sunday after 9/11? Its just incomprehensible to me. Looking back, most people were in shock and in grief.
