| Have you ever voted for a Catholic? |
|
If so, you shouldn't have any problem voting for Obama. Most of the Catholic Church's teachings I find far worse than anything Wright has ever said.
But of course, the Catholics I've voted for clearly don't agree with those teachings. Just as I'm sure Obama doesn't agree with Wright's more offensive comments.

| 1. I'm sure there are Priests who have said the same |

as Wright. Catholic Priests, in the poorer parts of the world and even US, aren't known for their love of US military policy.

| 6. really awkward comparison |

the problem here is that Obama has lauded Wright as his spiritual mentor, indicating that he's personally close to Wright. If you don't get it it, I can't explain it. And obviously it's not a problem for me, but it will be a problem in the general election, and it is a problem now.

I've voted for. I don't think it's something that figures into the equation.

Well, most of us. I did a poll a while ago and just about everyone here voted for Kerry (which gives me some hope that we shouldn't take people who threaten not to vote for the nominee too seriously).
