OBAMA FUCKING LIED THIS EVENING: Wright warned Obama he should leave in April 2007
Give me a fucking break. Obama's "performances" this evening was the biggest crock of shit I ever heard in my life.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/30/us/politics/30obama.h...

Mr. Wright, who has long prided himself on criticizing the establishment, said he knew that he may not play well in Mr. Obamas audition for the ultimate establishment job.

If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me, Mr. Wright said with a shrug. I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.

Probably not for them anymore though.

Isn't that just what Hillary supporters have been complaining about for this past year? Now you know how it feels. Now you know why Hillirites have been so pissed and started retaliating. We've all been saying what goes around comes around and begging/pleading with you to stop sliming Hillary...a fellow Democratic.

"I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan," Obama said in the statement. "I assume that Trumpet Magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree."

And his fellow goers:

213. Why do they have to reconcile
Everybody does some good and some bad. Just because somebody has faults doesn't mean he can't be recognized for good deeds. If only perfect people could be honored nobody would ever be honored.

Farrakhan has done many good things.

Trumpet Gala 2007

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan received the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Trumpeteer Award at the 2007 Trumpet Gala held on November 2, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

And Mr. Farrakhan is the cover story of the November/December 2007 issue of Wrights Trinity United Church Of Christs magazine, which is run by Mr. Wrights daughter.

and is a little misguided about the war in Iraq, but he still gives me the Word of God and everything else you would expect from your chosen church.

What his pastor said 7 years ago still doesn't give any legitimate reasons as to why Obama should not become the President. Obama has already said where he stands. This is another non-story started by those araid of his success at convincing the voters that he will be a better candidate than Hillary.

Nice try. What is that, the "all opinions are valid" argument?

Wright has demonstrably valid points. Ferraro made a very ignorant statement.

If you really believe that Obama wouldn't be where he is if he weren't black, then you also have to believe that Bill Clinton wasn't elected... after all, how can a guy become President without being Black? It is a complete failure of logic, just looking at US history, to make such a ridiculous claim as she did.

210. Wright and Ferraro ARE right!
The abuses of the United Corporations of Amerika ARE responsible for 9/11. HELL, we trained and funded OBL until he no longer met our needs, and then we simply funded and bowed to his Saudi Wahabist benefactors. The Bush cabal brought 9/11 on us to fulfill their PNAC neo-con wet dream! Wright is RIGHT!

If Barack Obama had the *exact* same resume, oratorical powers and all the rest, but had WHITE skin, he MIGHT be a US Senator (more likely still stuck in the state legislature), but their's no way in HELL he'd be the presumptive Democratic nominee for the freaking POTUS!!!! Ferraro is RIGHT!

Can the brainwashed Sheepeople of Amerkia handle the truth? Jack Nicholson had it right--NO!

Will the MSM, all lathered-up over war-hero McLame vs. Hussein Muslim Amerika-hating Obama make SURE they can't handle it? Bet on it.

Will this be the last s-election with even a hint of "choice" or "hope" in it? I'm afraid so.

I hope I'm wrong. But I doubt it.

217. Well, if it helps, there's a very good chance you're wrong.
To say that Obama wouldn't be running for POTUS if he weren't black is strangely dismissive of his more important qualities.

Let's dismiss those one at a time, shall we?

- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he weren't a man.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if He weren't tall.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he didn't have a good voice.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he were ugly.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he didn't have hair.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he didn't have money.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he wasn't so eloquent.
- He wouldn't be running for POTUS if he wasn't married.

What more can we add to the list? That makes the 'black' issue moot.

232. Be serious
He could have ALL of those qualities and without being African-American his candidacy would not have gotten of the ground at this stage of his career. LOTS of other candidates have all those qualities, but with only a single term in the US Senate wouldn't be able to form an exploratory committee.

And in case you're wondering, neither would Hillary, if she wasn't female.

Race and gender DO matter--to many, they are crucial, deciding factors. It sucks, but it is the truth.

Life's Work

Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. is one of the most widely acclaimed black preachers in the United States. Combining social concern, spiritual growth, and political activism, Wright, who preaches in a black traditional style, brings a message of hope, redemption, and renewal. In 1972 he became pastor of a small United Church of Christ congregation in the inner city of Chicago. After over 30 years in the pulpit, his congregation has grown to 10,000 and is the largest United Church of Christ congregation in the United States.

Wright was born on September 22, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Sr. and Dr. Mary Henderson Wright. His parents were his earliest influences, instilling in him a deep religious faith and a strong, positive image of his African-American culture. His father, who served as the pastor of Grace Baptist Church for 62 years was one of the first African Americans to receive a degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, earning a master of sacred theology degree in 1949. Wright was educated in the public schools of Philadelphia.

In 1959 Wright enrolled at Virginia Union University, in Richmond, where he remained until 1961. That year he left school to join the military. He served in the Second Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1963, achieving the rank of private first class. In 1963 he graduated as valedictorian from the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, and from 1964 to 1967, he served as a cardio pulmonary technician at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. During 1965 and 1966, he was awarded with three Presidential Commendations from President Lyndon B. Johnson.

After his discharge from the military, Wright continued his education. He enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1967, and was awarded a bachelor's degree in 1968 and a master's degree in 1969. He then entered the University of Chicago Divinity School, receiving a master of arts degree in 1975. He ended his formal education in 1990 when he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in black sacred music from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

While continuing his studies, Wright also began making forays into a career in the ministry. Between 1968 and 1971 he served short-term stints first as interim pastor and then as an associate pastor. From 1970 to 1972 he was a researcher for the American Association of Theological Schools. He was also a columnist for Chicago's Independent Bulletin during 1972. Then, on March 1, 1972, 31-year-old Wright was hired as the pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, a position he continues to hold.

When Wright joined the staff of Trinity United Church of Christ as senior pastor, the inner city church boasted just 87 active members, most of whom came from the neighborhood surrounding the church. Wright embraced his new congregation and took up the phrase coined by his predecessor Rev. Dr. Reuben Sheares, "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian." Within months the church had adopted the phrase as its motto and vision. Under Wright's leadership, fueled by his passion, and motivated by his preaching, the congregation began to grow by leaps and bounds. By 2004 there were over 10,000 members, with people coming from across the metro area. The congregation, which proudly notes its diverse socio-economic mix, dedicated a new 2,700 worship center in 1997.

According to Wright, the Christian call extends in two directions: upward to God and outward to the community. As a result, Wright takes seriously the need to reach out to others, especially Chicago's inner-city residents. Trinity has 70 ministry programs, 22 of which target youth. Half of the programs target the community, including adult education, literacy, computer, child care, and education for unemployed or low-income families. For Wright, religion, social outreach, and political activism go hand in hand. He vocally opposed the U.S. involvement in Iraq beginning in 2003 and has tackled such previously taboo issues such as AIDS from the pulpit.

As Wright's reputation grew as a powerful and dynamic preacher in the black sermonic tradition who incorporated music, politics, and social issues into his sermons, he became a sought-after lecturer and preacher. In 1993 he was named second on Ebony's list of the top black preachers in North America. Once admitting that he had considered a career as a seminary professor, Wright satisfied his desire to teach by accepting invitations to lecture and teach at numerous universities and seminaries. He first stepped in front of a classroom in 1974 as an adjunct professor at Chicago Theological Seminary. In 1975 he was an adjunct professor at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and from 1976 to 1992 he served as an adjunct professor for the Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education. He has also taught courses at United Theological Seminary, North Park Theological Seminary, and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Wright has authored several books, including Africans Who Shaped Our Faith, Good News! Sermons of Hope for Today's Families, and What Makes You So Strong? Sermons of Joy and Strength from Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. According to Cleophus J. LaRue in The Heart of Black Preaching, in his title sermon of What Makes You So Strong, Wright "demonstrates the power of the mighty sovereign at work in the lives of black people in twentieth century America. This sermon focuses on the root of black strength and survivability. Wright makes it clear throughout the sermon that the source of all strength, and especially black strength, is none other than the Spirit of God." As in his preaching, in his writing Wright focuses on the dual issues of corporate concern and spiritual sustenance. His latest publication, What Can Happen When We Pray: A Daily Devotional, was published in 2002.

In recognition of his contributions, Wright has been awarded seven honorary doctoral degrees. He has also served on a number of boards and commissions, including serving on the board of trustees for Virginia Union University and Chicago Theological Seminary. He continues to be a highly sought after preacher, teacher, and lecturer.

When she doesn't get things her way, she stomps her feet and pout. Just like a spoiled brat. Her coronation never happened after Feb 5th, why would we want her spoiled ass in the WH? She'd better off being a corrupt lobbyist and eventually indicted for her 'future crimes'. But then again, my sis did work for the Clinton WH, although she worked closely with Gore, not Clinton....... so I can say this is my own opinion and none of anyone else's. Understand?

218. Perception is everything. Even with dark sunglasses.
This hatefulness toward a fellow democrat is not doing Hillary Clinton any good. I feel a sense of things coming together in a positive way when Barack speaks. Obviously you don't.

This is exactly why so many spiritual leaders talk about clearing the passions and desires away in order to see the truth. How do either of us know that what we are seeing is the truth? I would say that your rejection of the man, Barack Obama, has colored your perception, filtered out anything that would contradict what it is you want to believe. And I know you could say the same thing about me. So that begs the question of what really is the truth about these candidates we have to choose between. And since Reverend Wright has been thrust into our perceptions, what really is the truth about him? I suspect it would take more than the sound bites we are getting to answer that question in full honesty.

*Your* denouncement of Reverend Wright appears off-the-cuff. I imagine it would be a bit uncomfortable having to eat those words if you met him in person and found him to be rather cordial toward you.

Because making Wright into the boogeyman was the first mistake the Hillary Supporter DU posters made. They just followed the Fox talking points.

Black folks ain't liking this at all......and I'm letting those that I discuss politics with (my 600+ mailing list) that on-line activists supporting Hillary are attempting to demonize Rev. Wright based on some 5 to 10 second clips from Fox News. I'm sure that there will also be a mention of it at our 5,000+ congregation service on Sunday.....as my Husband is the minister that sits at the side of a powerful Baptist Pastor. The Black community is powerful to a degree because of its churches, not in spite of them. And so, even if Hillary didn't have anything to do with it, folks are getting mighty pissed.

75. That doesn't mean that he obeys or agrees with everything he says.
Rev. Wright has a perspective on things that Obama doesn't have, partially because of Obama's age and background and mostly growing up in a white family. Obama appreciates hearing that perspective to make him aware of those perspectives, knowing there are many others like Rev. Wright.

Back when I went to church, various pastors I listened to would say many things I didn't agree with. Pastors speak only for themselves, though they like to think they speak for God or Jesus, too.

Obama probably personally likes Rev. Wright. He's probably very nice to Obama and his family.

This is a totally stupid thing for the media to get its panties in a bunch over.

Study: Many Blacks Cite AIDS Conspiracy

More than 20 years after the AIDS epidemic arrived in the United States, a significant proportion of African Americans embrace the theory that government scientists created the disease to control or wipe out their communities, according to a study released today by Rand Corp. and Oregon State University.

African Americans represent 13 percent of the U.S. population, according to Census Bureau figures, yet they account for 50 percent of new HIV infections in the nation, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Nearly half of the 500 African Americans surveyed said that HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, is man-made. The study, which was supported by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, appears in the Feb. 1 edition of the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes.

More than one-quarter said they believed that AIDS was produced in a government laboratory, and 12 percent believed it was created and spread by the CIA.

A slight majority said they believe that a cure for AIDS is being withheld from the poor. Forty-four percent said people who take the new medicines for HIV are government guinea pigs, and 15 percent said AIDS is a form of genocide against black people

The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment
The U.S. government's 40-year experiment on black men with syphilis

The United States government did something that was wrongdeeply, profoundly, morally wrong. It was an outrage to our commitment to integrity and equality for all our citizens... clearly racist."
President Clinton's apology for the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment to the eight remaining survivors, May 16, 1997

For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis. These men, for the most part illiterate sharecroppers from one of the poorest counties in Alabama, were never told what disease they were suffering from or of its seriousness. Informed that they were being treated for bad blood, their doctors had no intention of curing them of syphilis at all.

The data for the experiment was to be collected from autopsies of the men, and they were thus deliberately left to degenerate under the ravages of tertiary syphiliswhich can include tumors, heart disease, paralysis, blindness, insanity, and death. As I see it, one of the doctors involved explained, we have no further interest in these patients until they die.

The true nature of the experiment had to be kept from the subjects to ensure their cooperation. The sharecroppers' grossly disadvantaged lot in life made them easy to manipulate. Pleased at the prospect of free medical carealmost none of them had ever seen a doctor beforethese unsophisticated and trusting men became the pawns in what James Jones, author of the excellent history on the subject, Bad Blood, identified as the longest nontherapeutic experiment on human beings in medical history.

45. America needs to decide if it wants to forget that recent past or remember and deal with it.
We can't have it both ways. If it didn't happen, then they should be treating black men and women like they do white men and women, shouldn't they? If it did happen, then they should be fully expecting people like Rev. Wright who lived through it to not be so quick to forgive and forget.

Sitting at the table doesn't make you a diner, unless you eat some of what's on that plate. Being here in America doesn't make you an American. Being born here in America doesn't make you an American.

Rev. Wright isn't convinced that he's welcome at the table. He hasn't been offered what's on the plate. Looking at exit polls in 21st century presidential nominating contests (in a party that supposedly is more tolerant of every race than the general population), seems to validate how Rev. Wright feels.

Rev. Wright isn't politically correct, but that doesn't mean he isn't actually correct.

118. I think that she is suggesting that
THIS was the condition of our society until not too long ago, and that such conditions leave deep scars in those who lived these times and on the whole community. And while things are better now, they are definitely not good. Racism in subtle and not so subtle forms is still here, and we all know it. This is ONE of the reasons that an Obama presidency has the potential of a healing effect on the whole society that many of us (me included) cannot fully imagine. Ferraro was wrong to say that Obama GOT where he is because he is black, but IMHO the positive impact of an Obama presidency could be magnified because he is black.

I also think it was a little disingenuous to basically say "I didn't know he ever said anything so controversial, but now that I know I disagree with any of those statements."

152. As a native American Indian, I have always wondered
what it is about people that have to continually be pacified over things that happened in the past. Here is a clue into human psychology, if you PLAY the victim, you will continually BE the victim. White, Black, Pink, Purple, Brown, Yellow, Grey or whatever color, I have refused, as has my family to be victims. I cannot fix what happened in the past, and I can't claim to have suffered for it either. As near as I can tell, Obama has not suffered much in his life because of any of this, so why does he and his supporters continually play the "I was a victim" race card when things get just a little tough...do you honestly think that is going to play in the GE...just things that make me go HMMMMM.

Obama is a baby killer and a baseball player rapist. He must be brought to account on these scandals.

You, Herman, are the man to do it.

Please, for the sake of our nation, Herman...speak up.

15. Obama never claimed that he didn't know that Wright criticized the establishment
He said he hadn't heard inflammatory statements such as these. He said he didn't this kind of inflammatory tone.

He explained what he took from Wright's sermons and we have other accounts of people who acknowledge that Wright spoke out against homophobia, sexism and poverty in his sermons.

He never claimed that Wright was never critical on the pulpit.

You are so determined to see EVERYTHING in extremist terms with Obama, you are losing perspective.

And the screaming headline posts suggest that you really, really are crying out for attention.

Try taking a few breaths. Everything you want to share doesn't need to be shouted.

At that point I'm sure his own team's research dept dug up this info. Obama said he did not know about these statements when they HAPPENED, but he did know once he started running, at which point he made clear he did not agree with them. Got it?

Obama lost his creditability, and it will affect his campaign. If some Obama supporters can actually swallow the shit that this preacher man is spewing, good luck, but many people will not vote for Obama because of this. Obama is a member of this church for about 20 years, and you mean to tell me, that he does not know what this church represents!!! It's disgusting, that some Obama people can still defend Obama and his mentor. Obama and his preacher are playing the Obama supporters like fools. It's that simple. Obama's core of campaign is destroyed beyond repair.

churches are a lot more than the preachers (altho I must say, if I wanted to take up church again, a Wright kinda guy could certainly make me more interested).

Churches are community, friends, meetings, bondings, neighbourlyness, etc.

matter how much Obama massages this thing. He has the advantage of the weekend but Sunday morning will be the litmus test. If this is covered on sunday morning programming, it has life.

I don't want this to take on life because if Obama is our candidate I want him to win. Unfortunately, I see a 527 ad that will be seen by a public that is not as forgiving as this liberal board.

They were not pleased. And since they said that he's a crook, I sincerely doubt that they'll be voting for him.

Yep, if Obama gets the nomination we'll all have to get used to the words President McCain. Although since I don't like Hillary that much more than Barrie thanks to her record, I imagine that slime McCain is gonna take it either way.

96. I've only been posting here a short time, but I've been wondering
why, when certain pro-Hillary posters (I think this one is the most prolific) post, Obama supporters respond in droves, keeping the post at the top of the GD-P forum? I guess I'm falling for the bait since I'm doing it myself, but seriously, don't purposely inflammatory posts like this benefit when Obama supporters respond to them? Wouldn't it be better if these things just fell off the top page?

My impression is that there are more Obama supporters on this site, but Hillary supporters are better at controlling the dialogue in this forum. Not that it matters in the real world since only people with unusual and unhealthy addictions to politics actually read these boards, but still, it seems like something that Obama supporters should have caught on to by now.

109. it's not going away anytime soon
this is just bad for Obama. I for one do not believe him when he says he didn't know Wright was preaching the things he was preaching until last year. Sorry, but when you work with someone for over 20 years, have him marry you and baptize your children, you know what that person is all about. I worry when he says he was his spiritual advisor, someone who says "God Damn America". Another thing, we will lose the White House over this as Republicans will hammer him into the ground with this.

Was Ferraro Right?
By Faye Anderson

Mar 13th 2008 5:22PM

In the real world, a gaffe happens when someone is caught in an awkward situation. But it's been said in politics, a "gaffe is when a politician tells the truth."

While Hillary Clinton has apologized for Geraldine Ferraro's racially offensive remark about Barack Obama, Ferraro says "it was a statement of fact, and that's it, nothing more and nothing less."

Political blogger Mickey Kaus thinks Ferraro was right: "She's not arguing that he's where he is because black voters are caught up in identity politics--more the opposite, that white and black voters alike are caught up in the idea of ending identity politics. Nor does she seem to be arguing it's wrong to be at least temporarily "caught up" in this concept. But the concept wouldn't be there if Obama was white."

Kaus observes: "If Obama were white, he wouldn't embody hopes of a post-racial future. Duh! That's part of his appeal. It seems obvious. Why does Obama dispute it? Why isn't Ferraro allowed to acknowledge it?"

158. you
Every time someone likes you posts expletives in CAPS as if you were bitter and screaming, any person that may have been affected by your argument simply looks at you with pity and disdain. It's the shrill, angry, entitled, embittered responses and attacks from Hillary that are causing her to lose this race to begin with and turning off voters that used to be sympathetic to her. I use to be a Hillary supporter, but all the overwhelming shrillness that marks her campaign now makes that impossible.

"Your actions speak so loud, I can't hear a word you're saying." - Greg Graffin

What "Obama-cultist", or whatever derogatory word you'd like to call those who support him, do you feel would read that kind of statement and then conclude, "Oh, wow. Herman Munster totally has a point there. I think I'll vote for Hillary now."

You know very well that no one will be swayed by your derogatory post. Just like Hillary, you become "The Great Divider" rather then someone who softens his voice, speaks politely, and addresses actual issues.

When you write things that obviously have no purpose other then to rattle chains, then you become little more then the monkey in the cage sreaming, (in all caps of course), "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!"

160. This proves NOTHING
When Senator Obama announced his run for the presidency, Pastor Wright wasn't one of the speakers. Obama and Wright said this was because Obama heard that some of Wright's sermons were controversial. Obama made a prudent decision --- Wright isn't a consultant or surrogate for the Obama campaign.

Why is this such a big deal? Has Hillary Clinton publicly renounced her brother for his financial dealings with people pardoned by her husband Bill? Should we demand that she do so?

177. Obama for twenty years
has been a member of his church. The pastor married Obama and his wife, baptized his children, dedicated Obamas house and has been his sounding board. Obamas book Audacity of Hope is from a sermon of his pastor. His pastor was one of the first people Obama thanked after his election to the Senate in 2004. Obama consulted and prayed with him before announcing his candidacy for the presidency last year. There is an undeniable close relationship between the pastor and Obama.
The pastor called the US the number one killer, preached that we were responsible for AIDS, 9/11, Mandelas imprisonment and apartheid, Palestinian plight and on and on. Not just one sermon or two but many sermons over a long period.

Now Obama wants us to believe that he did not know what was being preached in his own church. I am sorry but I just cannot believe that.

This is such a non-story. So his pastor said some pro-black Afro-centric things. That's the nature of black churches -- and one of the reasons they have held black communities together in the face of such horrible racism in this country.

Hillary supporters need to remember that Barack Obama's mother was a white woman. He is 1/2 white himself.

229. I think Obama is where he is right now because he has a megawatt smile
and amazing speaking voice and he's intelligent. Yeah, I think his looks have helped him a lot. heh

What was the OP? Oh, and yes, it will be very upsetting, to say the least, when they show clips of Obama saying he was never in the pew when any of these types of sermons were given. His wife is a devoted follower and church goer and so is Barack. You know someone is at this very moment looking for proof that Obama was not quite truthful. It's always the lie that gets you. I happen to like what I've seen of Reverend Wright's speeches. In college I had many a history class on what not so great things this country did and you can still see them going on to this day. I also lived a little bit of it.

The problem for me and Obama in this case isn't a misunderstanding of the African American experience. Most people I know that have called themselves Democrats for the over 50 years I've been on this planet know very well about the cancer this country has always had when it comes to race. I can't speak for a Black person, because I'm an old white woman. I can say growing up poor and watching my mother stay with a man who was useless and dangerous - that she was told by a lawyer that she couldn't get a divorce because he would get custody isn't a pleasant experience. She was an uneducated woman who couldn't afford to raise children. She divorced him anyway and then things got real hard. She was called names. You know the ones. She worked seven days a week and she did it all in high heels dancing backwards.

I was left to run the streets at age 8 and my first friends were Black and Puerto Rican. I thought I had it bad. After seeing what they went through, segregated class rooms, not being allowed past "this" street, I felt that I never, ever had a right to complain. And I didn't. For years I never realized we were poor. Had to live in a Greek family's basement apartment. They didn't speak English and thought my Mom was a "dirty woman."

Sorry, all this talk about if you happen to be for Hillary or if you saw that Obama lied and that it might come back at him in the general and you really, really don't want McCain to be President,... you're head is constantly spinning because you can't believe that Democrats are turning on Democrats like this. None of it makes any sense. I'm voting for the Democratic candidate in November. It's a no brainer.

Haven't any of you watched an election season before? Don't you recall anyone getting a little carried away at times and then when it's all over, ya just gotta kiss and make up. Or at least look like you have.

At the rate we are going now, given 5 weeks or so before people can watch the big PA election night, which I agree that Obama doesn't need to win..to win it all..my god..we'll all be a bloody oozing mess.
