Rezko And Wright Both Dumped On A Friday Night And Now Obama Is Vetted. If He Survives, He's Money.

Did anybody else realize that? He got this story out tonight and answered the Rezko questions tonight. A Friday night, so that it burns out through the weekend, and 6 weeks (which is an eternity) before another vote is cast. He even released his earmark requests yesterday, so he must feel really refreshed right now that his skeletons are completely out of the closet. All of this had to be exposed at sometime and this was probably the best possible time to get it all out there and let people absorb it and hopefully move on from it.

Now, does that mean he's in the clear? Ofcourse not. We still are gonna have to wait until the next polls come out to judge if this night sinks his candidacy, but if it doesn't there's probably nothing left for him to hide. He'll be completely vetted, and Hillary still has A LOT of vetting to go through. This night frees him up to hit Hillary on transparency from now until June.

This Friday night might be hell for him, but if he survives, I think he's money.

If you noticed, all those stories surfaced month ago .. There is nothing really new or left to talk about pretty much, and so far Obama managed to duck those attacks, and solidify his supporters behind him.
Believe it or not, those attacks will attract more people to him, those stories will put his life in context, answer the peoples' questions to know more about his life and stop him from coming across as arrogant or Mr. Perfect.

that it was the Obama campaign itself that put this out there right now.

If these videos had come out with such a splash early on, it would have sunk him before he even got started. If the Clinton campaign wanted to play "gotcha" with them, they would have surfaced in the week just before the PA primary. McCain would have played them out in swiftboat season -- August. From the Obama campaign's POV, it's surfaced at the optimum time: right past one string of primaries and now six weeks to diffuse before the next one. And he is diffusing it beautifully.

Over and over in this campaign he's run circles around the opposition. The only time the other side scored was the NAFTA smear right before OH and TX. I think this is just the latest example showing he is a master of the political chess game. I am more and more impressed every day.
