She's using it like a sledge hammer, and I'm done wasting my time waiting for her to drop out.
Almost 4000 troops have been killed in the Iraq War. A whole lot of us veterans are on the verge of being recalled, especially if McCain gets into the White House.
This is my country, too. I served in the military and I fought in the Persian Gulf War. I don't want to get ordered to go back. I don't want anyone else to get ordered to go back.

giving the thumbs up to members in the crowd she probably doesn't even see, just does it for effect. I think it is all part of the "stage presence". I say that as a performer. I walk on stage, do my performance....and it takes awhile for me to see the individuals in the crowd. The lights are pretty bright and it takes awhile for the eyes to adjust.... Hillary prances out, and INSTANTLY does her point and thumbs up thingie....i find it hard to beleive that, since she does it almost every time, she is even responding to ANYONE in particular in the crowd. I think it is just an act. And maybe this is not so bad. I'm not saying this makes her a bad person. But it IS annoying.
I think Hillary has stooped to new lows in the past week or so....
I think she is 100% contrived.

Some of these people would follow Hillary over the edge of a cliff. They have no power. The power is ours. We have the power to make a difference.
And if we don't, we will wind up with President McCain. Because Hillary can not, and will not, ever beat McCain.

|
Because 1 of the delegates that was pledged to represent Hillary at our state convention is a black woman.
And she is outraged at what has happened since February 5th when she was selected to represent Hillary.
Needless to say, she probably won't support Hillary at the convention now.
There are a lot of delegates that weren't apportioned before today, in several states that held caucuses from as long ago as 2 months.
But, a lot has happened since then. Things have changed.
The same smiling Hillary that campaigned in Iowa, promisng them the world, has turned the campaign into a debate on race and Obama's religion.
Hillary is a Democrat, as far as I know.

I am of the opinion that Hillary is not a racist, nor is her campaign racist. I am of the opinion that her campaign has been cast as racist largely by the repugs and repug-manipulated MSM. So to jump into the fray is to become a manipulated tool of those we would defeat in the GE.
Give it a rest - both candidate have fantastic stands on the issues, and records and talents to be proud of. Stand on the positives and don't be a tool.

So what? What is it to Obama, what is it to me? If I supported Hillary for other reasons I would not care. Many older people, even those with good intentions and kind hearts are racists - it is an old worldview which is passing.
It is nevertheless a sideshow and a distraction from issues where Obama inevitably wins. To trumpet racism about is to give in to a defeatism where "the country is racist, Obama cannot possibly win". Why win an argument that loses the race?

in the context of this race, both racism and sexism are little sideshows which serve only the repug side. They would have us believe that neither of our candidates are electable because the country is both racist and sexist.
Think about "med student syndrome", where intensive study of one disease or another leads to obsessive self-diagnoses of symptoms...if we spend the run up to the GE talking about Hillary is losing because of sexism, or Obama can't win because he is black, the whole country steps back 50 years. There will be a racist and a sexist in every closet and every mirror...
We have two exceptional candidates running for election; they are people, not cultures, not genders, not colors, but individuals. The campaign trail is not the place for the country to work out its angst and loathing over these issues, except in the rovian playbook.

| 32. No to racism? What the heck do you mean? Do you mean you think people are |
|
voting for Obama because of his race? And that if someone votes for Hillary, they are racist?
I like Obama, but come on, this sort of tack will scare away voters and delegates.

| 40. So, the Iraq War is just a joke around here? What is this, the Washington Press Corp dinner site? |
|
You don't remember Bush making jokes about not being able to find WMD's in the White House and the entire White House Press Corp laughing about it?
This week he was singing about it!!
Do you think Hillary cares?
No, she just wants to continue the killing. "The troops will be home by my 2nd term". ~ Hillary Clinton.
"I am the presumptive nominee". ~ Hillary Clinton.
"You're either with us or against us". ~ Terry MacAuliffe.
There is only 1 choice for real Democrats - and that is Obama.

the best way to move on racism with good dem candidates is to change the economic outlook and work for economic and social justice while mouthing the platitudes.

|
And everytime somebody says she's not I'm going to set them straight by saying -
Hillary is a Democrat, as far as I know.
So get on 60 Minutes and tell everyone what a looney tune Hillary really, really is.
She'll probably blame Bubba for her losing the campaign. She never takes responsibility for her actions.

|
You seem upset. These temper tantrums are not doing much good. She is She isn't She is She isn't Gosh - great debate.
Here's an alternative version: She is, I am, he is, and you are. Racist. We live in the USA - we are all affected.
It's what we try to DO about it that counts.

| 61. Denial of what my dear? |
|
That we live in a racist society and we are all affected by that in negative ways?
It seems to be you who is in denial of that basic fact. We are all swimming in a poisonous stew of racism. It affects all of us to some degree. You can either add to it or work to lessen it. you are adding to it.
And - as I said before - the measure is: what we DO about that racist world that matters. Those of us who have the unearned privileges of being born white are not responsible for this mess but we must acknowledge that privilege in the best ways we know how. To me that is doing what I can to change social and economic injustices for the better.
Do you have a better plan?

| 47. I don't know but wouldn't it be a better idea to e-mail the |
|
super-delegates and tell them to get off the fence, publicly announce who they will support and end this now before even more damage is done to both candidates and the Democratic party itself. Continuing this, given that, numerically, neither candidate can now reach the magic number of pledged delegates needed to win, gives the republicans and mccain a boost and will make fighting the general election harder for whomever is the Democratic candidate than would have been otherwise the case, imo.

I tried to ignore it earlier, but it's still here. I hate that you are making Hillary synonymous with racism and as an Obama supporter, I find your comment offensive. If a Clinton supporter had written "No to sexism, no to Obama" I'd be pretty irritated. I also doubt it is in any way persuasive as it will put people on the defensive. We need to move away from these sorts of divisive remarks.
