Anyone got a theory as to WHY...
...so many of Kerry's war mates have such complete and generally unanimous positive recollections of his service?

...and NONE of *'s can remember him even being there?

...and WHY is this NOT news? What happened to Trudeau's $10,000 reward? Last I heard, it was still unclaimed.

2. Well....
Kerry was served and served well. Bush didn't show up.

Why is it not news? Because it shouldn't be? How is what these guys did 30 years ago relevant to what they will do in the oval office. I'm really uncomfortable with making a decades old war an issue. Kerry should run on his record in the Senate and he should run against bushes record as president. I really can't fault anyone for not serving in that war. Luckily , it ended just before I reached draft age....if it hadn't, and I had been called up, I certainly would not have served.

6. Why it's a relevant issue...
The justification of the Iraq invasion is murky at best--I don't need to tell you what it is at worst.

Bush, Rove, and Cheney never saw ANY combat; in fact, they never saw the wrong side of a tank at all. Yet they had no problem whatsoever sending RESERVISTS and NATIONAL GUARD troops to fight the Iraqis, not even regular Army (trained for battle).

Do you think most who served in Vietnam would be as willing to send our people in? Do you think they would have been as willing to ginore every ounce of evidence against the invasion?

It matters, yes, indeedy, IT MATTERS A HELL OF A LOT.
