Oh for pity's sake: Keith Olberman is irrelevant to the race
OK, I didn't see his "special comment". I don't watch TV except when I go down the road to friend's, and I've only seen Olberman a handful of times, and not been as impressed as many DUers. But that's neither here nor there. The fact is that his viewership is small and this won't impact the race one way or another. For those who see him as some shining beacon of truth, let me just say that to me he seems largely about entertainment and ratings. To those that consider him the devil for criticizing Clinton, relax. Go watch Dobbs or some other show on either CNN or Fox.

Olberman is not a newscaster. His show is all about his opinion, just as Paul Krugman's or Frank Rich's columns are about their opinions. And in the larger scheme of things, none of this has much of an impact on how people vote.

This is yet another tempest in the DU teapot.

2. I mostly agree.
especially: . "For those who see him as some shining beacon of truth, let me just say that to me he seems largely about entertainment and ratings."

Not sure what all the hoopla is over KO to begin with. - and his childish "feud" with BillO doesn't help his case.

4. I think that's pretty entertaining from what I've seen and read
And I enjoy anyone who mocks that pompous Vermont hating cretin. (parochial of me I know)

5. lol - it is the only entertaining aspect of KO to me, but it surely doesn't give
him any journalistic credibility..... which is fine because as you say he is mostly an entertainer - but so many think he is on par with Murrow.

7. I never was a huge fan - but yeah, he's got his schtick.
But I think he has been over the top lately.... I disagree with his viewpoint about Hillary in general. But even if I supported Obama, I would be put off by his soapbox lectures.

9. But do you actually disagree with what I said about
his comments having little or no impact on the race for the nomination? What's his viewership? Under a million, right? Whether or not your an Olberman fan, has nothing to do with that.

10. His viewership in the election season is around 1 million
This one should get quite a few youtube hits, so it should reach 1.5 million people Id say. I guess it really depends on if any news source covers it. In the long scheme of things, it probably wont have a big impact, but KO has always been a champion for liberal causes, and the minute he ever criticized Hillary (way before this), Hillary people threw him under the bus.
